The trucks are rated appropriately using J2807 standardized testing. Look it up.

Look to each his own. It's your truck, it's a free country. Post a pic of your truck when you turbo/supercharge it and more than likely I'll say "cool truck". It's not that I really care what you do with your vehicles, it is that I strongly believe that the Tacoma has plenty of HP/TQ from the factory to do what it was designed to do. Just know this, doing modifications like this to the engine will void all power train warranties. Not only the engine but the trans, diff, everything. The power train was also not designed for more hp/tq than what it came with from the factory. You will shorten the life of the powertrain. How much is anyone's guess. I bet the engineers at Toyota know. Toyota generally is synonymous with reliability. If Toyota thought they could keep reliability and mpg (to satisfy the Feds) they would of bumped the power up a tad. I know you won't agree with this so we will just agree to disagree.

Wtf would a person supercharge a Honda or vw...

What earlier model tacomas came supercharged? I know there was a trd charger available, but not off the factory line.

Also, I live in the mountains. And I have upsized tires. And I...gasp...have a 4banger. Would it be a shock if I were to say that I can break triple digits going uphill? Because I can.

I absolutely did. I didn't expect to see a product anytime soon, but it doesn't matter to me anyway, as I have no plans for it. I was just pointing out that Magnuson did in fact say that they were working on a product.

It would be cost retarded. Could you imagine having to manage it? “Maybe if OVtune could write a...” well, no. The engineers working on this probably realized the total cost to supercharge and electronically manage it were not fucking worth it lol. Otherwise you’d be slamming air into an open valve situation. Which is tarded. The problem is atkinson.

Right. Had the 4.0 (twice) and now a 3rd gen. Tow the same boat through the same white mtns. Not a noticeable difference.

A bit off topic anyways. So to bring it back.

Are they releasing a super charger any time soon? No. And if/ when they do this place will blow up and you'll know within the hour. End thread?

There really just needs to be a "why my truck sucks" section that doesn't pop up on the main thread feed.

The TRD supercharger was only ever a factory option on certain T-100 models for a year or two...since the T-100 was Toyota's "full size" before the Tundra and it only came with a v6, they offered a supercharged version of it for a short time. Otherwise ya as far as Tacomas are concerned it was never a factory option, always an aftermarket add-on through TRD.

Right. As far as tacomas, I remember back in the day they had this gorgeous TRD supercharger behind a glass case that I had wanted very badly for my 3.4. But it was never to be. Like a factory supercharged Tacoma...never to be.

ya you're right, did some digging and it was a dealer package offered in certain states in 1997 but not an official Toyota T-100 package

I got the same mileage. 200 miles per tank. Im also regeared. The difference for me was $65 to fill for premium, or $40 for regular.

If you have a Porsche (a real Porsche like a 911) then you already have fuck you money.

Now if you buy a Cayman, well then you won't be going that fast anyway.

GT2RS or GTFO. I got to drive one around a parking lot in Stuttgart last fall. I nearly soiled myself.
