What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

My brother in law gifted me a set of 2nd Gen OR wheels last month, decided to make the swap Saturday, went from running 255/75/17 Duratrac's to 265/75/16 KM3's. Jury is still out on the new setup, i may need to throw a set of spacers on to get the stance right. Opinions welcome.

I agree with the other two, the new look is nice but the black old school wheels look better...I'm biased though as I have very similar looking wheels

Yes. That was the inflator module I referred to.

 

It got pretty tight in a few spots but you might be able to squeeze a trailer through. Is it the same width as the Taco?

There were only 1 or 2 spots that took a 2 or maybe 3 point turn but mainly because we ended up back tracking a couple places.

 

I just never liked it. Much happier with the 4 spoke now and the cruise is just as easy to reach.

Speaking of cruise, it does work just fine. In fact, it works better since I don't have to jam the switch up to get it to resume now.

 

I get a random po420 also. Been doing it for 4 years and I still pass smog. Just clear it before smog and run it a few miles. Seems to happen every time I use cheap gas.

 

How much did it run you for one of those wheels? I hate the 2 spoke one the truck has.

 

Ebay, was about $190. Didn't find any cheaper at the time that were from a 4Runner that had both the airbag and cruise control included.

Which spanner wrench did you get/use that doesn't turn into a pile of S on the first use???

 

I did the full time 12 volt accessory, or cigarette lighter as us old guys call it. Who would of thought it was so easy

 

I like the 2 spoke better as well, mostly because you can see the clock through the gap. The 4 spoke covers the clock and makes it (even more) impossible to see.

 

I prefer the 2 spoke. The GX470 we’ve got has a 4 spoke. I find the 2 spoke more comfortable on the highway as well.

 

I use a punch for my rust-a-ways and a had a masonry bit that I used the back side of for icons

 

Finally got around to wiring the turn on lead to the relay for the 2nd battery today. Just hadn't gotten around to figuring out where to pull power from.

Found the 20A fuse in the bottom left of the interior fuse panel labeled 4x4 (funny cause my truck is a Pre-runner). It had power and it's true ignition (meaning only turns on when truck is cranked, not on in Accessory). True ignition is actually what I was looking for.
So now the second battery isn't just a paper weight.

 

Did you check any of the spots that dont have fuses in them?

 

I use the King one which is basically a long metal punch...it works but I have bent it while using it with the coilovers on the truck. Actually kind of works better now though with a curve to it

 

Everywhere I looked that didn't have a fuse, didn't have power.
