Got talked into the KO2 by the discount tire manager after complaining about the falkens. They would not balance( could have gone thru the process of ordering more and trying another set but I am leavin pg for a month and didn’t wanna get suck with a bunk set of tires)

Owner has ran kO2s on his Tacoma’s for over 20years had pictures of a few nice first and second gens and his third is cool too... couldn’t argue with that and couldn’t be happier so far. I’ll do a long term review after I get some miles down...

This is my first set of KO2's, and my dad used BFGoodrich All Terrain tires back in the 1980's, so he talked me into these. I love them btw.

My dad is a Truck driver, and he uses BFGoodrich tires on his truck, They're cheaper than the most popular commercial tire (Michelin), and he has never had a BFGoodrich tire fail. Another tire that is worthy of being mounted on my truck is the Good Year Duratrac, and UltraTerrain. I saw the new UltraTerrain at Discount Tire, and it is a very nice tire.

Buy the tire that fits your needs and not the look

I see no use for KO2’s here
Especially when you travel that a year
I would not want a off road tire when on road that much

Get the Falkin AT3 Wildpeaks. They are great tires and I had no issues with balancing... and they are priced very well. I have about 15k on mine and they still look great 11mm. Very grippy and no difference in gas mileage from the stock GY tires.

I will be needing new tires soon too. Right now for my needs I'm leaning toward the LTX. If you do go with Michelin, Costco has $70 dollars off a set of four through January 27th.

Really then why did the tire shops I talked to said they never had any problems with them? That they were great affordable tires. But said they had been having balancing issues with K02's. I have 10000 miles on my Wildpeaks and not one problem. Still like brand new.

    Stock and staying that way
Good to know. Thanks. I'll stick to the same tire then.

Plenty of threads on here with the same problem.... I also had the problem with wild peaks and not with Ko2’s...

There is a yellow dot on the sidewall of each Wildpeak tire. When the tech mounts the tire, he is supposed to align the yellow dot with the valve stem in the wheel to aid in balancing. Based on my experience, most tire techs have no idea what the dots are there for and ignore them.

I have about 18k on mine. No issues:

I recently got the Wildpeak and took them to Mammoth and they were great in the snow. I am very satisfied with these tires.

I’ve had KO2’s for three years now with about 14,000 miles on them and they are starting to lose traction when it’s wet. They still have at least 1/2 the tread left. I love the look of them but I’ll be getting Michelin or Cooper next.

The big question here is, replace a 70,000+ mile tire at 49,000 miles? Really? I've gotten >70,000 miles on two different sets on my old '07 Taco and never went off road once. LTX2 is a damn fine tire, IMHO.

Yes they are rated at 70000 miles but they only have about 3 or 4/32 left. I would rather replace them now than get stuck in the snow because I waited to buy new tires. I drive a lot and need to know I can get around with out getting stuck or sliding off the road because I wanted to get all I could out of the tires. To me it is worth it to replace them before they are bald.
