    Not necessarily. My ancestry is northern Italy, but it reads as Austrian. Coincidentally, the town where my ancestors came from was on the border with Austria (that we’re named after) so that makes sense. Then there’s the other side of the family that’s all German, so my DNA on my father’s side is almost all Germanic and no Italian.

    So the question becomes “what part of Italy did they come from?”

    Also, did grandma have a Scottish mailman? ;)
