no real advantage except slightly taller and better mpgs on highway due to lower rpms with less rolling resistance

In my size they only come with a crappy raised white letter sidewall. Yuck. 265/75/16.

That said, I’m extremely happy with my KO2s. I did see a 2 mpg drop when I put them on but I actually tow and take my truck off-road so I don’t worry about my tires getting a puncture flat or sidewall tear with the KO2s.

I was all set on some KO2's for my next tire until I did some more research and found the Michelins LTXs -- sounds like these may be more about what I am looking for. Then I found this thread -- and for what I use the truck for -- these appear to be the way to go.

I currently have TRD Pro wheels, so can anyone say whether they are getting any rubbing with the 265/70r17s Defender LTX M/S on SR5 stock suspension?

    Thanks!

I had my mind set on a pair of KO2’s, mainly for appearance upgrading from my lame stock 245/75/16 Firestone’s. I also looked into the LTX’s. Then was snapped back into reality when I saw the out the door total. A friend told me about TreadWright.com. Did some research and pulled the trigger on a set of AT Warden 265/75R16 10 PLY.

I’ll update when delivered / mounted.

how do you guys think the LTX M/S would do in sand? I do a lot of beach driving. Or would the LTX AT2s be a better choice.....

I ran LTX AT2 on my SuperDuty. GREAT tire.

    Low rolling resistance Quiet!!

Clearly not a mud tire but they did well in UT/CO/WY off-road

    They will last.

Over the last few years, I've noticed the LTX Defenders getting popular around Moab. They look pretty good in person.

I have these tires on my F150 and love them. Having said that I'm about to order a Taco and man, those K02's look sharp as hell. The Defenders probably fit my needs better but I may have to be bro and go for the looks of the K02's.

You bet! I'm still on the fence. I have a few months to think about it as I'll be ordering a Taco soon.

I just wanted to comment that for anyone thinking about the Defender tires...they are awesome.

Other than the small mpg hit, you’ll love the KO2s. They ride smooth and are tough off road.

Good looking tire. How quiet are they on the highway?

Not too loud, Its an A/T tire, the larger gaps in the tread pattern, the louder the tire.
    Having had both.
The Michelin LTX AT/2 is a better tire.
