I follow Doug on all his car reviews. Apparently, he feels Ford's turbocharged 4 cylinder is faster than our Tacomas. But praises the Tacoma at the same time. It Interesting review. Does seem to accelerate quickly in the video. Maybe Toyota will get us a turbo v6 for 2020.

I think it is very unlikely the Tacoma would get a V6 turbo. Why? It has enough power for what it needs to do. Truck buyers don't care about 0-60.

Toyota won’t do a turbo becuase turbos aren’t tried n true, half of them have issues off production line.

Then again they did put a passenger car motor in latest Tacoma’s for marketing purposes, over the naturally aspirated 4.0. So that does make me question Toyota’s future intentions

I’m sure it will be a good truck, but goddam.....why did they have to make it look so darn boring. Yawnsville edition.

Toyota has done turbo trucks in the past, why would they not use them again?

Toyota presently offers many turbocharged engines, including the engine in the present Landcruiser 70 series. The turbos in the LC are variable geometry, which pushed the boundaries of turbo complication in what is arguably Toyota’s most reliable vehicle.

Please let me know how to tell the difference between a truck motor and a car motor. Does one go vroom and the other urble-burble?
