Morning TW. I apologize up front for not having pictures of before and after, but wanted to at least throw this out there since I searched before my debacle and found nothing, so hopefully this will save someone time up front :)

    The long story:
Replaced all my lights up front with CougarMotorLED H11 LED's in the 6k color (white with a hint of blue). Why CougarMotorLED? First, the reviews on Amazon were wonderful and second they have a 3 year warranty - even if the company goes belly-up Amazon will still honor it. Not bad for $45/pair.

I'll admit, I'm not a lighting guru/snob so before anyone chimes in to say how LED's aren't made for our projectors, or reflectors let me just save you some time. while they don't throw perfect light like an HID, or Morimoto LED, they are soooo much brighter than stock. The projectors do a great job. The high beams scatter light all over the place (which is why I use my 32" CaliRaised LED bar for brights), and the fogs light up everything in front of the truck, sides of the truck and above the truck, lol. With that said, when I would run my fogs in town with the LED's I would notice people flashing their brights at me. No biggie, I'd just shut them off. I do a lot of driving on backroads at night so actually liked how much the LED fogs would scatter light.

Fast forward to last week when I opened up a Christmas present from the wife, and she had remembered me mentioning how I'd like a set of yellow Lamin-X covers for my fogs. I was excited! I went and put them on (piece of cake. 5 mins a side using the dry method and they look perfect). Then I turned on my fogs and noticed with the 6k LED's that I had a greenish tint emitting from the fogs. Obviously this was from the hint of blue from the LED's punching through the yellow film; blue + yellow = green. well, that's not really what I wanted. This time of year we get a lot of snow, sleet, rain, fog where I live so I really wanted YELLOW.

I decided to pull my LED's from my fogs and put my stock halogens back in since they were more yellow than white. Plus, this would fix me scattering light all over the place as I prefer to run my fogs all the time.

Very happy now with the end result, as the light it very very yellow and throws like it is intended, all for $15!

    The short story:
6k LED's going through yellow tint in fogs equals a greenish hue, use stock bulbs for best results.

On a side note, something else to point out that I learned through this. While we can use all H11's in low beam, high beam and fogs, I found out the high beams are actually H9's which are very similar to H11's, but they have a small extra pin which means H11's fit in the high beams, but H9's don't fit in the H11 harness. I guess the H9's put out about 20% more lumens than the H11's. While brighter, they won't last as long.

It would beem easier to get yellow led bulbs for the fogs. Laminex is a tint that will decrease light output. I also hear it can catch fire if left dirty and crap is stuck on it. 496D9C0D-E268-49E6-87E3-AE0ED6CFCB13.jpg

Those look good, but I've heard they aren't very yellow. with that said, yours look very yellow and seem to throw nicely. Do you have a link to the ones you used?
