i agree, i like and prefer the ride on E's...especially tight ones with a minimal sidewall. i run my ST Maxx 265/65-17 to maximize that. if anyone thinks their E's ride hard, they should drive my tires for some perspective. full pressure, ST Maxx, and good suspension on washboard at 50+, tons o fun and as smooth as can be.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
I have them and they are very quiet and smooth riding --way better than the stock Firestones that came on my SR5

Cheap, Light weight, Agressive, Quiet. I really can't fault them.

Does anyone happen to be running either 265/75r16 Cooper ST Maxx or Goodyear Duratrac's with a front/rear leveling kit on an SR5? I am thinking of going this route and would like to get an idea of what it looks like before i pull the trigger.

    Curious, why not 265/70/17?

I am shopping for tires currently. I need to do some more research as a noob.

i have a bit of a unique setup on my truck. i'm not trying to go high or increase tire size. part of my focus is tight responsive handling. so i'm minimizing the sidewall size on 265/65 over 265/70, which keeps my tires a bit more responsive from less sidewall. that tire in E is extremely firm, much more than 265/70, and that's what i'm going for.

also, there's a tick of mechanical disadvantage when you increase rolling diameter, and i'm preserving/optimizing my power and driveability as well.

    I see, thanks.

I notice in a sticky thread under the wheels/tires section it says that 265/70/17 is the biggest tire stock suspension will take on the 17" wheels (SPORT). Like the OP, I am looking for an "aggressive" looking tire, but minimize noise.

    Ran Cooper at3 for around 69 k (265/70r17)...loved them
Going more aggressive of a tread is inevitably going to produce more noise...it's all personal preference...
My Dad ran Cooper at3 on his taco as well and just purchased the Michelin ltx ...he was a little sensitive to the road noise as the tires were on their last 5-6k ....
    In no particular order:
    Cooper atp
    Cooper at3
    Hankook dynapro ATM
    Terra graps
    Open country at2's
Really can't go wrong and I'm probably missing a couple in this bunch....
Other factors to me were price/warranty and tread life

Before I purchased my tacoma, I ran michelin LTX AT2 on my F350. 10ply of course. They had the lowest rolling resistance of any AT tire. I rallied down rig roads from South TX to Wyoming for work / They were a very quiet and good tire and although the tread pattern is unorthodox for an AT tire, they did very well off road in Moab, Grand Staircase and San Rafael Swell, even in the Bentonite clay. But that was a heavy truck.

Now I'm looking for an A/T tire as well, and have narrowed it down to Falken WP3, Deegan 38 AT, and Toyo AT2. All are reasonably priced.

Happy New Year! I have a lifted 2015 TRD off road with custom Fuel wheels and Nitto Trail Grappler 285/265 R18 tires. I LOVE the aggressive look of these tires but they are getting so loud on everyday driving that it's almost impossible to have a conversation. I don't do a whole lot of off road so I am looking for an aggressive looking quiet tire...any advice?

You will not be able to get aggresive and quiet tires.

I have Firestone Destination A/Ts and love them. Great tire.
