Depends on where you go but uber might be an option, or even a regular cab service

Seems like places that aren’t in the northeast have nice vehicles haha

Yeah I thought of that too. I’m gonna take a look around and see what works best. I have all summer off (time between end of PA school and licensing/BS) so I have flexibility

I looked at Tundras, but until they refresh it, there's no way I could do it.

    Main reason was this:
    upload_2019-1-3_9-48-48.jpg

My F-150 is rated 19/24/21. The combined number is a whopping 7 MPG better which translated to around $125/month in gas for me.

They also lacked a lot of options over the competitors (no heated seats unless you get a limited, no locker, no Android auto, etc.)

yea but it's simple and it's reliable. in my case my commute at least until daycare showed up was next to nothing 6miles 1 way. I've got 9 years left until I inherit my dads 2017 so that means at least 9 more years of daily driving the taco lol My dad had also come from an 02 Tundra and 03 sequoia and is happy to be getting better fuel economy. I think he might even be getting better than EPA ratings

    I think I saw something about 2021.

I'll probably replace this Ford for a 2022 or 2023, so it'll be interesting to see.

@tacobell007 drew what kinda mpg are you seeing in the tundra?

Question is, how much mileage you expect to have on that Ecoboost, and how hard you work it.....

Time will tell, but I don't think engine reliability is a limiting factor on much of anything at this point, at least not for the amount of time a person will realistically hold onto a vehicle. It isn't like they're turbos from the 80s or 90s.

Shrug. From what I've seen on the Ford forums, mileages in the hundreds of thousands are perfectly reasonable for the Ecoboost motors. The biggest thing that seems to wreck them is abuse, like tuning chips that max out the boost. Even the turbos are lasting well past 100k in most cases, and not frying out after a year or 3 like everybody apparently expected.
And these are reports of the original motor, the 3.5. The 2.7 is built even more ruggedly.

Guess it depends on what is considered abuse, and work.

I will say this. We were transitioning to those for our fleet. And, now, we are going to move to GM vans. Pretty sure it was a reliability issue for the whole vehicle... But..I don't know for sure. I am a nobody....
    Take that how you will.

I think I read Ford expected the turbos to go at least 200k under severe service on the original 3.5.

The 2.7 is a graphite iron block and was built from the ground up to be a boosted engine: https://www.wardsauto.com/engines/2018-winner-ford-f-150-27l-ecoboost-twin-turbo-v-6

Sadly, it's still a limiting factor for some car companies...

I averaged 16.5 to 17.5 my whole SC trip. Strictly around town in the winter is about 11 right now

So basically your Tundra gets the same mileage as a 2500, then
That's about what I average on long trips with the Ram, and currently I'm sitting at 12 and some change for my around town and commuting mileage, where the truck never really gets up to temp. And that 12.whatever includes time spent with the plow on the nose, too, since I haven't reset the 'fuel average' since the last oil change. I've hand calc'd it a few times and the computer actually reads a little pessimistically since it's gotten cold out, usually .2-.3mpg less than what the hand math works out to.

Getting 20+mpg is definitely something that I miss about the F150

That's what I was thinking, it's very similar to what I get with the 250. I get 15-16 on my daily commute in and out of Boston. Summer, back road driving, I can get 18ish. On the highway, I actually do a little worse at 70+ MPH. I dropped to 14-15 MPG on my highway trip to Albany over X-mas.

My 4Runner gets better gas mileage than my Tacoma did. Even though the T4R is heavier, the automatic seems to do better on gas on the highway.

On my back road drive to work I'm pretty consistent at 21 this winter, I was at 23 most of the summer.

Highway is highly dependent on speed--at 55, I can get 26-27 easily in the summer, 65 is 23-24, 75 is more like 20-21.

Low teens would kill me driving 50+ miles per day.
