Competition benefits everyone. Maybe if toyota loses #1 sales for small truck they will pay attention and build a better truck. Look at the 2nd gen when the was no competition they basically did nothing for 10yrs. Ram should bring the Dakota back and really make it interesting

All While sitting on a perfectly manacured ashpalt milled parking area with perfect sunbeams gleaming through the trees. It seems perfectly legit that a pretty blue truck with kayaks glistening on racks with not a speck of dust or dirt is present on the tires or truck itself. I myself, am spewing high fructose porn syrup...not over this, but over my Tacoma.

The new Dakota is supposed to be built off the Gladiator platform if the rumors are correct.

Why would it be a problem if your truck moves along quickly, IMHO it seems like it would perform all of its utility duties a little better.

I would rather them focus on additional power via a hybrid electric motor.

Have you seen the gladiator? I’m sure it has a purpose but not my cup of tea.

I came real close to buying one, I believe you could get a manual transmission with the v8 as well.

yeah that v8 in a mid size was perfect. wonder what the new one will look like but
I can't imagine anyone is dropping a v8 in a midsize any longer.
I don't care for the look either

Too expensive for my tastes, I do however like that it will have a Manual Trans though.

Good thing you got rid of it before it melted a hole in one of the pistons. I put a golf ball size hole in my Focus ST cyl 4 piston. I decided to get a Colorado when the 2017s came up. I run a 14.6 quater mile with my 2017 v6 Colorado bone stock - over and over. My best run, with a good launch, in the ST was a 14.5. I really like my Colorado. It's just as fast as my ST used to be with tons more capability. The only thing I lost was handling which you cant even push to the limit daily anyway and my ST couldnt tow my boat or camper.

I'm convinced the Colorado is still going to be the fastest 1/4 mile midsize at sea level. The ranger will probably win slightly with a tune, until it melts a piston anyway.

I think Ford rather forget all about the Triton series of engines. That engine series was packed with underwhelming power and engineering.

I don't think the Ford is exactly ugly, but it clearly is an homage to the Toyota Tacoma.
