A couple more things to do while doing the 4x conversion.


And a set of nice looking ditch light brackets I found on eBay.



And there may or may not be a transmission, transfer case, and front driveline headed my way for delivery tomorrow

 

More parts arrived today... Haven't even had a chance to do anything with the last 2 or 3 rounds of parts arrivals, but hey... I won't run out of things to do once I get started.

 

So I picked up some lights and a switch at O'Reillys.

Took a little bit of time to work on it today.
Didn't really know how well they would work till it got dark.

Ok... So yes... This one gets a mission accomplished ✔️

Finally got around to wiring the turn on lead to the relay for the 2nd battery today. Just hadn't gotten around to figuring out where to pull power from.

Found the 20A fuse in the bottom left of the interior fuse panel labeled 4x4 (funny cause my truck is a Pre-runner). It had power and it's true ignition (meaning only turns on when truck is cranked, not on in Accessory).

True ignition is actually what I was looking for.


So now the second battery isn't just a paper weight.

 

Picked something up on the way home from the airport today. Gonna take a little bit to freshen it up but I think it's going to be a nice addition.

@SCRunner12 picked it up from the seller for me. He knew what to look for and he had my back

 

Welded in some plates to make mounting turn signals easier.


My son knocked off all the rust and miscellaneous loose paint.

 

Drilled and taped the holes for the mounting bolts for the lights.

My son is putting some Por15 on the mounting base.

 

Gunmetal Gray acrylic epoxy

 

Hopefully the turn signals I ordered are going to fit the way I think they will. According to the dimensions, they should fit right in the triangle.

 

Done for the night. Here's how it turned out.

Say I was wondering if you could pass on the dimensions of the RTMR mount. I am currently at sea enroute to Antarctica and stupidly left my notes behind which had the dimensions I had for fabbing up one. I hope to root around in the scrap bin and find something that I can bend up for installation this spring when I get back.

Well... One last look at the front end of the old truck. It won't be looking like this again.

Got the bumper and sub assemblies off.
We painted all of the lower stuff black to hide the body color, washer res, etc.
