If your protocol isn’t fortin, change it now and you’re done for now. This looks like a bug that the manufacturer is aware of and addressing with another OTA update soon. The work around it is to change the current Fortin protocol to ADS and then when the unit is done booting up, to change it back to fortin. No need to send any commands in between all this. Leaving it on ADS will work fine for the time being until the update is pushed to you and I announce it, but the door lock status and engine timer will not be passed through. Successful commands will go from blue to green when pressed. The way to do this is:

Press the “gear” icon at the top right to enter settings.

    Press on “settings”

Scroll down to protocol and then press and hold the space just after the last letter of the protocol that’s currently in there, if it’s fortin, then press and hold just behind the “n” for 5 seconds or more. A pop up will display warning you that you’re about to change the protocol, agree/confirm and change it.

    • Vehicle must be put into "Ready Mode" by Putting foot on Brake pedal, Shifter into Neutral, E-Brake up, Foot off Brake pedal, Turn ignition off, open the door, exit the vehicle, close the door and lock. Opening up any door after this will take the vehicle out of ready mode.
This initially seems like an inconvenience, and it may have already been mentioned somewhere in these 48 pages, but you can open other doors while the driver door is still open. I.e. I keep my work bag on the driver side back seat, so I just make sure the driver door is the last door I close, and all is good.

It’s after the last door is shut that opening anything again takes it out of ready mode. The assumption above is youre the only occupant. ;) :)

@jayrobot got my Fortin red light issue all sorted out! I spoke with him on the phone last Thursday and he had me tell him the steps I took during the installation. Without any question, he sent me a new remote start harness and module that I had on Saturday. He asked me to just call him when I went to install so he could help me through the setup of the Fortin module- everything went perfectly this time. Must've been something wonky with the programming/USPS beating up the package or something.

Either way, Jimmy was awesome and extremely helpful!

When I disconnect and rearrange my wiring for the tpms to give more slack, will I have to reprogram the module or anything else?

Normally no, unless unplugged for a REALLY long time. I typically suggest to get the wiring the way it will be before starting, especially with a smart module because some people accidentally hold or wedge the unitnin a way that hold the programming button down...then guess what happens then...yup.

I scanned through here briefly and am interested in ordering. I have a couple questions.
Is there a better deal ordering through here? Or go right to the website?
What's the extended remote or app option? I just see the smart key option using the OEM fob. I like the idea of using the original fob, but an interested in the app also.

Thank you for your time, assistance.

For anyone here on the fence, DO IT. I just finished an install on my 2017 TRDOR (manual transmission) and it took all of 20 minutes. Only wires you have to cut or even touch is the TPMS and clutch wire and they're both super easy (if you know what the colors green and yellow are). System works perfect, including with the smartphone module/app.

I've installed 10 or so of these units into other vehicles over the years and I've never been more satisfied with this ready to go kit, rather than having to source and program all of the components yourself. His price was cheaper even than I could buy each of the necessary parts as a consumer.

Jimmy knows his stuff, and his customer service is unmatched. Who else gives out their personal cell number if you have any issues? I don't have enough great things to say about the product or company.

That’s the goal. Next feeling up is more than satisfied, followed by ecstatic or giddy post installation. Just you watch!

I've read people having problem with the app not starting but the fob working. Mine is the opposite. My app works flawlessly but the fob barely ever starts my truck. The only way I get it to start is to keep hitting the lock button way more than 3 times. It will finally start but also set off the factory alarm. Any ideas?
