They didn't declare it abandoned. They said they were exploring their options and watch their social media for updates. Not the best news, but all they can say if they have no planned release date. This thread was given a clickbait title of no supercharger coming from magnuson anymore, and the shit show started. You're right you can come in and wonder why people want to modify their truck, but usually when people are truly curious they are open-minded and would ask it less troll-like such as, "What issues have you had that you think requires more power?", but they don't, they come in with, "Well I'VE done this tow so look at ME, and if I subjectively don't have any issues you possibly can't, cause I'M better than everyone else in my tiny me-world." Go right ahead though. I remember you're just here to just be a troll so enjoy.

Or you make it the vehicle you want it to be. It's that simple.

This is the same message the naysayers had 20 yrs ago when TRD partnered with Magnuson to offer blowers and then URD ran with it even further, both developing reliable options that are still in use today. Here we are 20 yrs later still with guys who don't mod talking about how stupid and unreliable it is. History repeats itself.

I mod. I fab bed cages and suspension products. It’s just that these aren’t 22re’s anymore, I leave the engine stuff to engineers.

I don't think you're trolling me. I think you're trolling this forum. You have a truck you don't want to modify, but come to a forum that's almost exclusively about modifying.

No. It’s for enthusiasts. And I do modify.

I'm guessing part of the reason our trucks run so shitty out of the box is because Toyota had to make an 11.8-1 engine run on 87 octane fuel.

Adding boost will only make things worse.

Can you say... "Blown head gaskets" ?

    If I were Magnuson... I wouldn't touch it with a 10ft pole.

Just look at the big fat headache Matt is having trying to tune the motor WITHOUT boost.

Once my truck is paid off (If I own it that long) and out of warranty... I will shop around for a Chevy 6.0 engine/trans/transfer case and drop THAT in my Tacoma.
THAT should solve any power problems. :)

To have a little bit more go and torque when needed. It would be beneficial in the sand and deep snow. The 3.4 needed one and so does this truck lol. TRD make one already they would sell out lol.

Well currently I can only do this with the Tundra mod, and I don’t want a full size.

But tell you what, when one is available, I will have a wise investment for you. Send me the money I paid for my truck, I’ll put on a turbo and when I blow up the engine, cause whybto fuck have a turbo if you not going t9muse it, then I’ll replace my truck. It’s a win win for me.

Oh, and just for the record, I miss my 4 cylinder. I just needed a double cab to fit the family and knew a 4 cylinder wasn’t going to cut it so I got the 6.

Yes. Indeed. A blower worked fine on the 3.4, Toyota engineers at the helm. It was novel, and well received. The longevity of those 3.4’s were compromised, though. However, we are all aware how the 3.5 works, and a supercharger is not as simple as it was. Which is why it was abandoned (and if not, will be at some point) leaving everyone else to wonder why it was even worth it for the utility pickup.

Those are WAY too big for this little motor.

I think a single TE44 would be more than enough to make 550-600hp. (on C16 of course)

To be fair, how many high mileage SC tacoma's are out there and how do current mileage compare to non SC tacomas.

Unfortunately, our little motors don't make enough power to spin that blower.

After reading OVtune's blog posts, I started running 91 octane. After 3 tanks, I feel a difference in smoothness and Power, and I have better fuel economy. I Believe the knock sensor/ECU is allowing the timing to advance. Could be all in my head though.
