My first hobby is wood working I made a wooden shift knob for my 2015 Access Cab automatic. I'm very proud of it.
The insert that allows it to screw onto the shifter is metric. My 2015 is 8mm x60. I suspect that most 2015's are the same. If your interested please check your shifter for the right size. If needed I can custom make one with your insert (depending on size).

Here are two pictures - the black piece is original equipment.

This piece is made of Cocobolo a South American wood.
    DSC_3307.jpg

This piece is American Cherry with a red stone insert
    DSC_3305.jpg

The Cocobolo is $45.00 The Cherry with insert is $50.00

Those prices include shipping in the lower 48.

These look great  As I'm bad at visualizing things would you happen to have any pictures of them installed inside the truck?

Nice! Been thinking about doing this myself and wondered about the threaded insert size. Good luck on this.

Awesome! I did one myself with maple. I drilled a hole a little smaller than the thread and let the shifter do its own thread while twisting it in place.

Looks like my 2nd gen(12-15) is closer to 12mm. I'll pull the knob and check at the hardware store manana.

I have some 12mmx1.25 inserts coming in soon. Have you made a decision?
Let me know. If not no worries.

I am happy to sell you just the insert but you would have better luck at woodturnerscatalog.com in the search box type insert

This is a hunk of Bay Laurel burl I'm thinking of using.

I couldn't find any listing for the insert so I'll probably just cast one from epoxy.
