If its a 2015 v6 it does have an immobilizer built in, but the fact that it started and died tells me it's not that. Should just not start IIRC

The only fuel filter is the one in the tank.

And it's not much of a filter... I've added an external filter as I spend a lot of time in the desert and hope to keep fuel clean since having a blower on the motor makes it hell to check injectors or plugs on the driver side of motor.

@HBMurphy I'm all the way out in the pacific ocean. Guam. The weather here is very humid. Summer sun all year.

If this is it the computer may store codes for this but necessarily throw cel. It happened to my wife’s xterra. Acted like a bad fuel pump.

When it happened to our car that’s how the dealer was able to diagnose it. I asked them specifically how they were able to diagnose it. At first the problem was intermittent and when it finally died my wife was at work and fortunately dealer is just a couple of miles away.

@YamaDirtrider I may know someone. I just want to get as much advise on what it could possibly be before i have to go and open up something or take something out. I know some diagnostic scanners to be off sometimes. I trust good old fashion mechanic work rather than rely on technology.

@maxtherat I'm about to go and buy me my own diagnostics scanner. Dealership mechanics charge and arm and a leg if your warranty is up.

@Precy_E By all means that’s we’re i would start. I wasn’t around when ours crapped out so my wife handled it how she felt was best. Actually very happy with how she handled the whole thing and the nice thing is it was fixed that same day so she was able to drive it t home. Yeah a bit more expensive but she was safe and that’s what mattered the most to me. I hated not being able to be in control of the situation myself.

They may be but they are an excellent start. If you don't have one you can get cheap bluetooth ones that connect to your phone for about $15. I have one in each of my cars. :)

@maxtherat Of course, I'm grateful my wife wasn't stranded elsewhere. I'm glad it decided to act up at home instead of give out on her somewhere on the road doing errands or such. Thank you very much for your advice and suggestions. I'll be glad to update you after we have the problem fixed.

I’m invested in this so anxious to hear the problem and solution. You have to start somewhere and Tacoma world is a good start.

So, update. I did diagnostics. And I had a basic overthinking amateur panic. In my defense, this is my first truck and I couldn't help myself. It all pointed to the battery. Apparently my battery was telling my truck its basically gonna die. Got a back up battery and tested to make sure the alternator wasn't causing it and so far so good. I guess my battery was just old . I feel silly for making it seem like an emergency. But I'd like to thank you all for your quick responses and helpful suggestions and for putting up with me. BTW, if this is the same Tacoma World on Facebook, I'm in that group too. But again, thank you all. Have a nice day!
