squirrel is one of my favorite animals to eat. they have a taste all of their own. my roommates mom makes this awesome rabbit and squirrel casserole. i dont know how it is made but golly i eat 3 or 4 plates of it whenever i am there. it is also funny to see people's reactions after you tell them that they just ate a squirrel and they liked it.

 

You guys ever had raccoon? that shit is really good too!

 

yeah raccoon is decent. its a little greasy for my taste though but by god it is delicious cooked over a camp fire at 3am when you are starving! groundhog isnt half bad either. kinda tastes like beef. i reckon cus they eat the same things cows eat

 

Makes sense. I had a friend cook the coon in like a aluminum pan. Butter, potatoes, onions, peppers. Some secret seasoning stuff of his, damn was I glad that I stayed out till 3 am with my .17 HMR the night before lol

 

haha yeah. i cant believe you lug that rifle around while coon huntin. we just put a 22 pistol on our hips and follow the dogs. a hell of a lot easier than carryin a rifle over fences/creeks/mountains or through bramble patches

lol more like cheaper. Dont need the dogs. Man I had one that was asleep on a low lying branch. Went up behind it with a 454 Casull handgun. It came of the tree real nice.

 

made for a pretty nice pop. Got some other interesting raccoon war stories but I dont wanna offend anyone.

 

id like to hear em but im not very easily offended.

but anyways no pictures for the last day of huntin. the past two days of hunting i have spent nearly 8 hours in the woods. Seen 8 deer, 3 turkeys, an eagle, and found a lost dog. But i have not seen one squirrel. not one. 0. the big goose egg. I think they all are summer hibernating or somethin. now im tired and going to sleep my bad huntin day off

What are the rules of hunting squirel, you have me kinda interested now. I might pop one outback just to see what it taste like.
