Yea, that motorcycle jack was key. I think though if you have some jack stands (at least 3) and any kind of jack you'd be ok. Once you get the first bolt in (the one in the middle) and then the one in the front, the rest are ok. The two specialty beam clamp bolt assemblies on the drivers side because of the fuel tank were a bitch. On the passenger side they were easy peasy.

Thanks, I bought the wheels off another member when I joined. 20181230_153540.jpg

The 0° are freaking perfect. They're higher than the Predators they replaced but lower than the OEM tubes that came on the truck.

The wife said Toyota Tacomas should come with these.

Absolutely perfect. Oh! The powder coating is super non-skid! In the rain today, zero slip!

I hear ya Mark. Money ain't growin' on trees over here in Maryland either. Those sliders just happen to fall into my lap. I also bought a used skid (T Case) off another member. When I bought the IFS skid it was during the Black Friday sales. Then since I was buying that and the T Case I was like "what, have a huge gap?" dumb, so before the sale ended I bought the Tranny skid.

My bumper(s) will definitely have to wait now. And will definitely be one at a time. Unless I hit lotto.

    One more gratuitous Slider pic..........:D

Skids and sliders are the best armor you can get when it comes to money spent vs protecting your truck when wheeling.

I certainly hope you are right! :D

As clumsy and unlucky as I am I'm going to need all the help I can get.

Plus I really hope to not run into things that require a armored bumper, like trees or boulders. At least not yet.

I have seen first hand though what coming off a ledge the wrong way, even slowly, can do to a rear bumper.

I have had a pair of homemade sliders for some time that I need to weld on.....someday. Once my main skid arrives then I can place the tranny one on, thought about the t-case one during the sale but held off for the time being.

    Those still look sick though....

Yea, I'm going to coat my skids with bedliner coating. Then I'll install them. I'm looking forward to doing it.

FWIW, I had mine done that way originally.

Turns out, they don’t get used as steps nearly as often as you’d think, but you do scrape your leg on them too often. So did my wife, and she hated them.

When they were replaced, I PC’d the new set.

I can always add skateboard tape in specific areas if I need to, but they’ve been fine so far. I don’t miss the texture.

Hold up, you hit your legs on skids and they don’t make great steps? Curious on your method for getting in and out of your truck.

You have a very valid point. I’m curious too.

    I was thinking sliders.
