With a completely stock 3rd gen TRD Off-road, you can actually go up to 33" tires without rubbing issues if you go with "skinnies."

I'm personally running a set that measure roughly 32.8"... Cooper ST Maxx 255/85R16's.

    Lotsa shit.
wildpeak at3w's, or goodyear duratracs in my opinion, I probably won't buy anything but the goodyears, as we have had a few sets now, but there are plenty tires that are comparable at a lower price point, which is also important. treadlife of the goodyears was insane for me, cause I ran them in an E range cause why not haha.

pro grille, raised vinyl "TACOMA" letters on tailgate, de-badged, tint, ARE truck cap, BFG KO2s waterport, vinyl Tacoma inserts in dash, red "TRD Engine"push button start, MTF!!!
Everyone spends a LONG time thinking about this one. I drove on my stock tires for about 8k miles. Eventually pulled the trigger on the size up 265 70r16 BFG KO2. It was largely between those the falken wildpeaks. In the end,the KO2s just looked better in my opinion. But, given conditions, my bet is the wildpeaks will do better in rain and maybe snow, but the KO2smight do a little better on dirt, grass, mud. And, just to throw another wrench in it. If I did it over, I'd go Cooper St Maxx in the 255. Probably just made it worse for you ....but, welcome to TW :deadhorse:

I got wildpeaks on my pro, duratracs on my t4r. Couldn’t pay me enough to ever run ko2 again. They are horrible in the rain and snow. Love the duratracs and these wildpeaks are super impressive as well.

I really like this setup. I've though about buying that TRD Wheel because there seems to be more options in the 17in wheel.

I've owned about every other tire brand besides Falken. There seems to be a lot of people on here running the Wildpeak. I do drive a lot of highway miles but also need tread for my farm. How does that tire age/wear?

I also run the Nitto TG G2 in the 265/70/17, now have 38k miles on them and love them.

Great for the road, dirt, snow, sand and rain. Not too expensive and only weigh 42 lbs in a C load. You can also get them in 285/70/17 in C load at 45lbs.

If you're in a muddy terrain I would look for something else.

A little of both. I live in the Central United States, so I see snow to sandy mud. I'm just really not in love with the stock tires. I have owned 4 different 3gen Off-Road tacos and a 2gen TSS. The 2gen TSS came with a very good set of BFG Rugged Trail T/As and I have hated all the stock tire on the 3gens.

I knew this was a can of worms to open. I always enjoy seeing what other people have came up with though. I'm interested in the Wildpeaks but I have never owner a Falken tire and am not aware of the wear/aging pattern. I've never heard anything bad about Falken, but haven't really ever heard any good.

I'm in same position. Can't make up my mind between 265/75/16 Wildpeaks or 255/85/16 Cooper ST Maxxs. Definitely a price difference, and the Coopers are E rated so they'd kill MPG more. Would be able to cram a full size spare of the 265/75/16 in the stock location though. If Falken made a 255/85/16 Wildpeak they'd have made even more money from the Taco community.
