For a HT I’m using a Alinco MD5GP and really like it. Not overbearing and it’s dual band with DMR and GPS. I went with the powerhouse Kenwood TM-D710G in the truck. I figured it had everything I wanted and more so I wouldn’t be looking to upgrade anytime soon. Don’t be afraid to pop a hole in the roof. I’be hit repeaters 43-45 miles away with the Kenwood. Plus it does APRS out the box. I’d love to have a Kenwood D74 but it doesn’t do DMR.

But is the fish wet or dry once taken out of water?

It wasn’t wet while in the water, but would be consider a wet fish upon removal.

    Lol!! Sounds Good!

As long as it will power an impact wrench I'm good. That's the end goal.

For the time being I'll just use it for airing up tires and blowing compressed air around during detail work

OK for smaller stuff. Not a huge reserve of air which impacts will need. Impacts like bigger tank capacity. Get a rechargeable impact. I bought a DeWalt 18v impact. Haven't even seen my air or electric (corded) impacts since.

I'm currently rocking a car port but wouldn't mind letting one go at the tree about to fall over in the front yard.

Doubt that will have enough CFM for a impact. Be a lot of waiting. I’ve got a 33 gallon one. Check the CFM listed on a impact and buy a compressor that will produce that.

Years ago, when I was still trying to make it as a carpenter...I was trimming the front porch on a new house. Lunch time came along. We just sat there on the porch and ate. About half way through, a mouse came wandering across the porch. He got about 5 feet from me. I picked up my air nailer, pulled the safety back and popped off a shot. 2" 15ga finish nail. Head shot. Through and through. Mickey was dead instantly....1 shot....

I could have fired a box a 5000 nails and most likely never hit it again. But #1 was a killer. My helper was impressed.

Dang it, yeah I was afraid of that.

All the others they recommend are in the $300 range. Can't afford
