Sorry, I have 1.04 does 1.05 automatically show up when you go through the process to flash the truck.

How do we receive 1.05, should be the question

If you have the dongle version, you can download it.
If you have the no dongle version, he should have sent an email. If you didn't get the email, create a ticket with him.
If you have a manual trans, 1.05 isn't quite ready yet .
    2019 isn't ready yet.
    See details here:
    https://www.ovtuned.com/blogs/news/1-05-update-details

After you download it, you just select the new file in your flash tool, and write it.

So if I just bought my OVTune #3705 and have 2019 TRD Pro, I can flash 1.04 that come with the tune I’m waiting for in the mail then wait until 2019 1.05 is realeased? Sorry I’m new to the OVTune world. Also if I want the ect gearlock I need to ask for the 1.05 with it added on to the version of the tune? If yes how do I request the gear lock?

    Close.
It is my understanding no tunes are ready for the 2019 truck at this time, but are very close to being released. This is very likely days away, so it should line up nicely with your shipped items. Each version of the ECU requires unique coding of the tune specific to that ECU and it's current programming.

Once you get your kit and follow the instructions to get it registered etc., at that time you should be able to get the "base" 1.05 tune, if not then it will be very soon, you can apply that tune to your truck ASAP.

Go to the same place you ordered the tune and initiate a ticket to request gear locking or custom tune. Be patient as they are a 2 man show and have to address each ticket individually as well as all the other work they are doing each day. They work hard and are very detail orientated.

Thanks you! That make more sense. So I have to wait regardless for the 2019 1.05 tune to come out because there is not time for 2019 currently? Like you said it will probably be perfect timing. Thanks again for the info.

I do not have the dongle kit. I came on-board in June 2018 and bought the software and the Tactrix OBD II port adapter.
The original tune I used was V1.04. Using the instructions current at that time, I had no problems flashing the ECU.
However, if you refer to the instructions V4.2, following them still requires emailing ECU ID to get a registry code and I am told that you no longer need to do that. I received Mat's email with the 3 octane-specific files to chose from. If I open the P5 Flash program, it opens with my ECU ID in the box (even if not yet connected) and the upper buttons are "Identify" "Flash It!" and "Read DTC". However - the buttons are ALL grayed-out so neither can be selected.
So I am stuck. I have the Tactrix drivers loaded and the connector plugged into the OBD II port, AND my laptop USB port.
So close - yet so FAR.

I seriously thank you all that tried to help me. I hope I can return that favor sometime.

PhogDog: My programs do NOT show the screen shot GUI pages you provided. Perhaps you are using the dongle method?
What program files and what versions are needed to flash non-dongle types? I got my latest file copy from the OVTune website - but only have the P5Flash program that is 415 kb size. In instruction Rev 4.2 only that and the Tactrix drivers are listed as "what you need".
Anyone know any better please jump on in.

Questions for others with stock trucks running 1.05 91octane. I'm not bothering OVTune with a ticket until I find out if these are more widespread than just my Tacoma, since I know he's buried in support tickets.

Do you experience a shift dance between 3rd and 4th gears while accelerating sometimes? I've noticed multiple times while accelerating from a stop, holding the throttle steady, the shifts get earlier as the gears get higher. Once in 3rd gear, there's a very early shift up to 4th. Many times it will shift back down to 3rd, accelerate, then shift up to 4th again once at the desired speed. This is while keeping the throttle held as steady as possible. Upshift to 3rd is in a good spot, upshift to 4th is too early, and upshift to 5th is way too early.

When accelerating up to highway speed, let's say 50% throttle or somewhere around there, shifts through 1st and 2nd are awesome, but then when it should shift out of 3rd to 4th, it doesn't. It will hang in 3rd gear until letting off the throttle completely. I had the 4th gear hang in the first 1.05, but now its a 3rd gear hang.

I really want to data log this stuff, but haven't taken the time to figure out how to do so using Techstream.

If my truck is the only one doing this then I'm wondering if I should manually check my transmission fluid to make sure its full. Thinking if it was a little bit low, that could maybe be causing some of my undesirable shifting activities.

I'd agree with your assessment, I find myself giving it more gas when it hits 4th.

I'm pretty much stock except for 32s, and don't notice this "dance". Which version of 1.05 are you on? Go ahead and submit a ticket, if it's something you're not happy about.

See, I wonder if what I'm experiencing is because of stock tires. The tune was developed on OVTune's truck with bigger/heavier aftermarket tires, and I'd guess there are none of these weird behaviors going on there either.

Notice you're in ND. Wonder if the ambient temp difference is enough to significantly change the air/fuel ratios beyond what the map can compensate for. I think you need to send Mat a good data log with your trouble ticket.

Definitely could be air temps. Highs here lately have been in the 20s.

So is the 1.05 MT release done yet? Does anyone know when we will be able to get the S-mode gear lock and custom tuning? Mostly interested in the S mode lock.

Anyone else have any problems with ToyFlash software crashing during Step 3?
I'm running Windows 10 and I have successfully added my reg file but every time I click "identify" the program closes. All virus programs are off and I've connected OBD and turned ignition to on.

    Thanks for any advice.

Make sure you installed the drivers for the OBD cable.
