Y’all think Thule May start making Tepui tents in USA? Or still import from China? Thule has several factories in the USA already. 75% of their products made in North America.

I'm gonna get flamed, but I hope they don't.

They already have a good product and all the tooling, etc established and happy customers. Why change that? All that happens if they go to the US is the cost goes up. Margin on products is never allowed to go down, so that means sales price must increase to support increased labor and overhead charges.

Thule specifically said in the press release about the purchase that they won't be changing anything at tepui. Even keeping an old owner on as manager of the 'tent division'

You boys think I'll be good to run a rack & RTT on my truck for about a month before I get suspension? Or should I just wait..

I may be biased ;), but you'll be fine. One of the things I see people do all the time is "just wait to finish the next thing" and then never actually get out an explore. An RTT will make exploring so much more comfortable and enjoyable that waiting on that seems silly.

It's probably like 300 pounds tops, so I'm sure you'll be fine. My RTT, rack, and weeks worth of gear squats the bed a little bit, but it doesn't seem to have caused any ill effects.

You'll be fine for sure...I run mine on stock suspension...little bit of sagging in the back but it actually makes the truck look leveled.
And I really dont have plans for upgrading suspension anytime soon. (Unless someone can tell me reasons why I should)
