Thanks folks for the additional info. I ordered mine also. No, I do not trust Amazon's "advice". The computer only prints out what was put in. I doubt there is any attempt to cross reference any parts.

I have a DC Tacoma and was about to buy a Carrier bearing from Camelback for a little over $200 shipped. I went onto to Amazon with the link provided and of course it says it doesn’t fit my truck either. I’d love to buy the $79 one if possible. But don’t want to end up buying 2. One from each place. The Part# is definitely different.

I've been running a $13 carrier bearing off rockauto for about 6 months now, sure it needed greasing when I got it, but I don't see any reason to say it isn't a good part :notsure:

I took it to a shop and they put one in from O’reilly’s and within 2 years, the rubber started to crack and finally shred completely through. I can poke my finger all the way through the rubber donut. Now it’s back to making the same sound it did before it was replaced. The shop won’t honor it and I don’t want to make the same mistake twice. So I won’t be going back there. It’s a little out of my realm of mechanical skill no matter how easy some people say it is. But before that, my carrier bearing had lasted at least the 10 years I owned it and had to get it replaced. I just want to make sure this is the last time I have to pay to have it done for awhile.
    Thanks,
    Morgan

I went by a local driveline shop today and they had the correct Spicer carrier bearing on the shelf. They were too busy today but I made an appointment to get it done. They saved me over $100 just in the cost of the part. I’m so happy I did that. The guy said Spicer is what came on the truck originally. I looked at it and it even had a Toyota stamp right on it.

    Bah, fuck thieves.

I ordered mine on 12/20 and Amazon was saying delivery between today, 12/27 and the 30th. I was out of town until today. While I was gone, I got the delivery notification on 12/23. Just got home and there is no package that I can find. Says it was left at my front door, which can't be seen from the street, so someone took the time to walk thru my gate to the front door to see if there was something to take.

    Just ordered another one.

Is this gonna be a maintenance swap or are you working on something specific with replacing it?

Gotta imagine the look on their faces when they open something as odd as a carrier bearing.

Maybe it was dropped at the wrong house? Theres a house one street over from mine with the same number, they get our stuff all the time.

It's a slim possibility. My neighbor has dropped of a package of mine before that was delivered to his house by mistake.

Looks like this WAS the case. Neighbor dropped the package off this morning and I've canceled the re-order I placed last night.

What approach did you take? Drop the entire rear shaft or just disconnect the back half at the center bearing?

If all your doing is the bearing, just disconnect the 2 halves at the CB. You can take it all out but its a lot of extra work IMO.
