If bought through an FFL in Virginia, your name will always be attached to the ATF. I have had them do a "trace" once. VSP called and said it had popped up in a crime. I was freaked. Fortunately, from the jump, they said I wasn't a suspect (shew) but asked if I had a record of what I did with the firearm. I said I did not, and that was the end of it. I started asking for bill of sale after that. I was already asking for proof of legal purchase. It's wise to do IMO. CYA, ya know.

This is as aligned as we can get it. Almost positive we bent it last trip to flagpole.

Time for some gussets. I think @glorifiedwelder has a set in stock if he wants to go that route

That’s what he’s thinking. Gonna pm him and ask if he’ll take only one side as a core. Only reason he wouldn’t go that route is if he can get one local for cheap

Finally decided to mount my rear LEDs and move my switches to a mounted location rather than just hanging by my leg. I used my dad's dental tools (for making dentures) to cut out a plastic insert for the switches. Now I just need to wait for my wire extensions to come in, hopefully tomorrow according to FedEx, because I leave for college again on Sunday. And I got that nasty dent fixed on my rear fender.IMG_2245.jpg IMG_2243.jpg IMG_2239.jpg IMG_2241.jpg IMG_2240.jpg

There is no law requiring it, so its completely up to the seller to do so.

In my mind, if I feel the need to get paperwork from you. I wont sell you the gun without going through an FFL at that point for a full background check and paperwork. If during any point in the sale process I have a feeling you may be prohibited, I'll ask if you are comfortable doing so, hell I'll even offer to pay for it.

But I've turned down private sales because someone made me wait 20 minutes without telling me they were coming late, and brought a car load of mam's with them.

I've refused sale face to face with someone due to them being sketch about showing me thier VA license. They eventually produced it, after I told them they werent getting it, as I was getting in my truck.

I'm all about private sales. But I dont fuck around when I do them.

i'm a big fan of CYA - especially when it comes to guns. If i sell one, i'm definitely getting a bill of sale which will include seller and buyer's information. I also go through an FFL if they don't have a valid voters card or a conceal permit. Peace of mind is worth the money and the time to do background check to me. I also want it as a buyer in case the gun pops up stolen for whatever reason so they can go back to whoever they need to - as long as it isn't on me.
