ARE cap

What’s your opinion on Are caps and which model is best for the 3rd gen ? First truck first cap any help is apprecited

Probably a good place to start. 2.5 gen here but I have a Leer 100R:



If you are in and out of your bed a lot, I HIGHLY recommend windoors

 

Can't help on the 3rd gen part but have had boeh ARE and Leer. As far as I'm concerned they are about equal. It's more important to have a reliable dealer than the brand. If buying new the manufactures always have coupons on their web site. If you plan on camping in it and are going to make a platform then you should get the model with the higher top.

Also if you plan on adding an rtt, the only two companies that are branded to hold that weight are A.R.E and snugtop in the hd series. Leer will deny warranty if it is known or found that an rtt was mounted on theire canopy. Per a conversation with the manufacturer.

 

I was quoted 3k for the ARE cap that I wanted. For that price I'd recommend an Alucab.
