Try your local dealer first. I also live far from those two dealers and still drive there, because I don't trust 3 dealers around me that are 10 minutes away.

Thank you for the advice, I’ll make sure to go there if I have trouble at my local dealer

I bought my truck from Heffner in Kitchener. They have been excellent to deal with when I had any questions or concerns after the sale, and their service department is open late. When I bought my truck, they were replacing frames on a couple trucks. I would talk to them.

I worked at heffner toyota for a few years when they built the new bodyshop. Top shelf place. They are big on service, and actually care about their customers

Same with me driving further than I have to.

There's 6 dealers within 15-20min of me .I go to the one that's 45min away in stouffville

Hard to tell exactly what part it is, but looks like a replaceable bracket, not part of the frame?

BTW frame replacement is very invasive. Plenty of opportunities to pinch a wire or introduce contaminants into the fuel lines or brake lines. You can end up with random electrical gremlins hounding you forever. Happened with BlueT where 4WD worked intermittently after the swap.

Anybody have their tent mounted with the ladder out the back and not the side? Just curious if I mount mine as close to the cab as possible, if I can use the tailgate as a step? I have a acess cab long box. I don't think it will work, but I'm curious as to any one else's experience.

Depends how close you mount it to the cab. I don’t think you’ll have room to use it as a step. When mine was mounted off the passenger side I used the tailgate as a step to setup the window awning poles and put the cover back on.

So from the picture that doesn’t look like the frame and more the bumper bracket.

Regardless bring it in. I have heard both good and bad stories regarding the frame swap. It’s betternthan having a bad frame...

Ya, I was thinking I did the same thing. I had mine about 3 inches from the cab and had to open the back door and hop up in to put the awning poles in. I might have to put it on tomorrow to find out my tolerances

Of course if we get the nice weather that they are predicting, And I have the tent on, might as well put it to good use lol.

Same with Josh. After his frame swap he just kept having issues with things

But thats also because an incompetent dealer did it

The ladder will be sticking beyond open tailgate, I tried the idea that you are talking about on my previous setup (DCLB)
