I couldn't wait to drive!!!!! When I was 13 I use to wash my moms 68' Ford Fairlane station wagon in the alley behind the row home we lived in and would drive it up and down the alley in forward and then reverse over and over. It had 3 on the tree. As soon as I got my license I was never home. I was actually going to the beach at 15 before I had my license.

I was a juvenile delinquent for sure. Now I'm an adult delinquent.

Driving was our ticket to get to different skate parks when I was coming up. Skating in the street in front of the house was for losers without cars and licenses!

My friend had one of those, bumble bee yellow with almost black windows. I had a 77, slightly less bondo than my friends 68.

I never had a race car, that was classified as a race car. Like a Camaro or a Z-28. However I did have a 1975 Eldorado and until recently it had the largest CI engine to ever come off a production line. I could smoke anything stock and did. It was a real sleeper at the Circle Drive In burger joint.

Z28's were all a out a high revving 302 small block with huge power to cu in.

With a few minor tweaks it was 400hp +. Rated at 290hp. Trick was to wang it up to about 8k rpm and start rowing the shifter!

You could see the gas needle move if you had enough road. Front wheel drive and would smoke the tires to the wheels if you wanted to.

In HS, I had a 1979 Chevy Blazer with a 74' 350 with Eddlebrock intake manifold, some big cam and a Holly 4 barrel carb (forgot what size). Sucker was fast. Raced & beat many cars. Beat the snot (Wheeling too) out of that thing and it just kept on goin'.

Sounds like the same set up as my Z-28. I could suck a 1/4 tank out from 0 - 60.
