    For starters:

For Christmas, I was given a 12v Solutions Push-to-start self install kit (plug and play). I installed it as shown from the company (nothing but 5 star reviews) and it works great. About a week after having this (I don't know if this has anything to do with it) but I figured I may start here.

The other night I was using my high beams like normal back on the rural roads, then turned them off when traffic came around. About 20 minutes later, I went to turn the back on, and neither of them came on, just my fogs went off naturally.

The next day I checked my fuses under the hood for DIM and the headlight fuse as well. All checked okay. Today, I changed one of the high beam bulbs to see if that was the issue, still nothing. I have to bring it to the dealer for an oil change next week anyway, so I'm probably going to remove the push to start so they can't blame it on that and tell me to F myself and pay for whatever the problem is.

Any ideas or past experiences with the same?

Checked the diagram, none seem to be associated with the headlights/hi beams.

    Anyone else?

The original post said I replaced one to see if that was the issue. Not sure what the odds are of a new bulb being bad but I suppose I could try the other side tomorrow.

I don’t think this is an option in a 17, and the normal hi beam switch should still operate even with auto. To answer the question, no

Check all connections under dash/kick panel. You may have a loose connection. Possible you may have pulled on one, when installing remote start, and it took some time to jar completely apart. Just a suggestion.

Have you removed the remote start and rechecked all your wiring and connections? Start where you potentially messed things up and go from there before going to the dealer.

Did you put a meter on the bulb sockets? If you're not getting correct voltage to the socket; then either start chasing wires back (lots of work), or return the vehicle to stock (check operation), if still inop take to dealer and report “high beams just stopped working”.

If you are getting correct voltage to sockets, change bulbs again...

No I haven't had the time to get under the dash but I'm off tomorrow so I'll start with checking connections and then remove the remote start before taking it to the dealer. I'll post results this week. Thanks for the input

    Update: 1/11/19:

This morning I woke up early for once and decided to make an appointment at the dealer. I took ten minutes to take out the remote start (literally ten maybe less since it's plug and play) and tried the high beams. They work now.
Conclusion: The installation guide for the remote start says to zip tie connections etc for a more secure connection, and I did not zip tie them with the possibility of taking it out in the future. I read a ton of reviews on the remote start and they're nothing but five star reviews and nothing about any connections loose or anything malfunctioning. For now, I'm going to assume that this was a user error on my part, and reinstall when I get back home today from service at the dealer. (need an oil change). If the problem persists after reinstallation, I'll call the 12vSolutions customer support and see wtf.

    Thanks everyone for the input.

Well sounds like they deserve something less than 5 stars now, lol? There is no good explanation except that one of the connections was loose.

Imagine that . . . another "I fucked with my truck's wiring and now it doesn't work" thread.
Glad you got it figured out.
