Hey gang! I'm new the the forum and have a question. I recently swapped the OEM Fox TRDPRO to an Icon Stage 3. I know there are some out there that will criticize this move but I wanted more height with a lift and went with this package. I upgraded to 2.5" with reservoirs in the rear. I've noticed a funny sound coming from the front suspension whenever I go over bumps (even small ones). The sound is like the rustling of a few 2x4's and comes from eboth sides. I hear the sound even on very small cracks in the road even. The install was super clean done by SDHQ in Gilbert AZ - a very good shop. I'm just wondering if anyone else has heard these sounds and might have an idea of where its coming from or if I should just ignore it (nearly impossible). I'll include some pictures of the truck and new suspension. Any ideas are appreciated and thanks in advance.

You have a lot of threads showing, icon recommends not exceeding 2.13” of threads showing. Measure where your at, because you may be topping out the shock with all that preload.

Yes measured the threads all well under max and well with in correct spec. I'm in contact with SDHQ and its been an interesting process with me being out of state. I have an appointment they set up directly at Icon for an inspection. We'll see what happens. Right now the problem has gotten much worse and there's something wrong with my truck.

I will be updating the community as the process continues hopefully with great news that we solved the problem and that I got great support from the Icon and SDHQ.

So far personally I'm still not confident in the ride I'm getting and what is happening in the front of my truck. This week I took the truck to Icon Headquarters in Riverside Cali. I met with a very knowledgeable and skilled member of their team and he looked over the install. This visual inspection was setup via the SDHQ and I appreciate the effort and the exceptions they made for me to do this. In his opinion and the opinion of other shops that looked - the install looked clean and well done. The Icon Tech noticed the thumping as well when he rode in the truck but was not overly concerned - I must say the streets all around their headquarters were flawless so we didn't really get to experience what I drive over on a daily basis on LA streets. He suggested some adjustments and some areas where we could add grease etc. The thumping is evident whenever I go over uneven pavement and very small bumps - to me it feels wrong and the ride makes me feel like I fucked up my TRD PRO. Is this unique to Icon or would you experience the same with FOX - I have no idea? It's totally possible that this is a normal ride after a lift and I should just live with it - which I've pretty much decided to do....with time I may get used to a thundering shocks to the frame when ride over uneven or cracked pavement - but maybe I won't. My truck looks dope and thats one thing I wanted for sure - success - the ride on the other hand leaves something to be desired.

I keep hearing more and more stories about icons making weird noises (clunks, pops, creaks, etc) either right away or after some miles. Some people had issues with the older UCAs but the delta joints you have are supposed to alleviate those issues. People love the ride but hate the noises.

I’d take that icon kit off my truck and put the Fox kit back on.... nothing was wrong with the truck with the fox kit on correct?
