First of all, it’s not newly found and that’s just an ignorant statement. Rather than some pics why don’t I just give you some videos Daryl offroading “rock crawling” with his BDS 6” Suspension System with Rear Block installed, not even my Rear Suspension System.

    https://youtu.be/j4heoQzBACg
    https://youtu.be/EOmL-AjDOsQ
    https://youtu.be/C3AI9XzT7sk
    https://youtu.be/IU3tkgjw4HU
    https://youtu.be/b6WohPQUYLM
    https://youtu.be/Jc5zpSIAZuE
Also, the great thing about having the setup I have, which is the same as Daryl’s, Victory4x4 makes their own skid plates to fit this exact Suspension System. As you can see in the video clips, he “bashes” them pretty good and they hold up great! Daryl does more in these videos than most taco owners do period. The ones that do more are in the minority.

Check out my post right above this :) Also, check out Victory4x4. I’m not sure if their skid plate will work for your setup but check it out. As for the 18” rims, I agree 100%. That why I said that there are other Suspension Systems out there. I just know of BDS that recommends the 18” rims. I actually could have used my previous setup on my truck if I would have had my suspension system prior to getting my new wheels. I wouldn’t have even needed to use spacers. Each truck is different and that’s the thing people don’t understand either. Great post!

Agree. That’s why my first post to his question was short and sweet. Just saying yes. However, everyone knows how these threads go when “anyone” mentions a 6” suspension system. :rofl:Gotta love it. It’s always a good time.

Pros don't have to make concessions about road manners and they have the luxury of rebuilding everything every other weekend. The rest of us use our rigs in the real world; so unless they start having to pull campers in their races, what they do really doesn't effect me

Once you go down the 6” rabbit hole and then find out you hate it due to lack of power, super crappy gas mileage and all the other costs you will encounter like having to re-gear...(not to mention frame warranty gone if that matters to you)...can’t really turn back once you do this.

6” is typically for looks and really doesn’t enhance the offroad capability. In fact that cut frame to add that lift crossmember often acts like a snow plow in the snow reducing the effectiveness of the vehicle...if you live where it snows.

It’s your truck, just do plenty of research.

Seriously, there are less blanket "truths" about lift choices than people argue on the internet. I took my BDS kit rock crawling to prove it could be done at the extremes, but that doesn't mean it's the best choice for rock crawling. I would argue that the extra belly and wheel well clearance was awesome, but the drop bracket meant I had to carefully pick lines.

If I were using this rig mostly for slow crawling I would do a SAS in a heartbeat. Just like I'd pick a long travel kit if I was using it for hauling ass through the desert on rutted out double track as center clearance is important. But as it is I use the truck as a DD, tow rig, and adventure mobile; so I chose the 6" BDS kit.

And maybe when I want to change it up and feel comfortable cutting A TON I'll go to a 3" mid travel kit with the 35's still flexing to the bumps. Not really hard to weld the 6" piece of cross-member back in that I cut out for the lift

He’s no pro. He will even say it. My setup on my truck is even more developed than his at this point other than he has Front Lockers installed on his truck and he removed his front Sway Bar for Rock Crawling purposes. He is working on upgrading his Rear Suspension System but I don’t know if he’s done it yet or technically where he is with that at the moment. His current setup does pretty much everything he needs it to do.

If people are relying on their truck to get them laid that is just plain pathetic and how a boy would think.

That's part of the specs of the lift kit! New spindles, shocks, springs/blocks, more sex from females (or males if that's what you're into), and new u bolts :D

The type of women that would have sex with a guy based on his truck are probably going to cause more problems than the lift lol.

I don’t know man. Just drop it and realize it can be done to the extreme. It’s not an ideal but what is ideal. Isn’t that our own opinions that decide that?!

The road manners of a db lift will be worse. I was saying the pros DONT use them and please explain how your drop bracket lift helps with towing in that real world.
