I'm looking to pick up a new Trance this week. I'm torn between the 27.5 and the new 29er. Anyone have experience with both?

No experience on the 27.5, but I'm on the 29 right now. Seems like a great, really versatile bike, but it rides small and ultimately I've deduced that the size I got is too small for me. I've ordered a new bike, and am on the fence about selling the Trance or keeping it as a back up bike.

Single Speed Hardtail, your tougher than I am. My kidneys love my full squish. Granted, I almost bought this bike, with a full set of gears though. Sweet ride. The new one looks like a Santa Cruz had a one night stand with a Yeti. lol

I'm on 27.5, heard the 29 is just as fun, just depends on how you want it to feel... flicky and nimble or more stable and rolly.

I have a 27.5 Trance Advanced 1. I haven’t ridden the new 29er yet and am extremely curious as to how it rides. The suspension travel is so far off from the 27.5’s that I’m surprised they didn’t make it a new model as the 27.5’s are a 150/140 almost an all-mountain bike. The 29er Trances are closer to the Anthems travel numbers.

Traumahawk, love your setup. I run a pretty similar one. Question - how useful is the awning at that size? I've been considering pulling the trigger, but it seems almost too small to be very useful? I've seen guys run longer ones that just kinda hang out without a rear attachment point, and also seen full length ones with a bed rack. Interested in your experiences!

    Now with Tacoma content.

I usually do not name bikes, but this is already nicknamed “Bigfoot” since it monster trucks over everything.

Salsa Blackborow - GX Eagle 1x12 - Mulefut 26x80mm wheelset - 26x4.6 45NRTH Dillinger 5 studded tires - BB7 brakes - misc bits and pieces. My attempt at a fat/cargo/townie bike. I have a regular set of tires for normal use too.

McCall is great for trail rides. We spent a few days at Gold Creek lodge then moved to Silver Mountain for some lift access.

that's a sick bike build. Nice work. My buddy has a salsa built up like that and he bike packs deep into wilderness areas. He took it out to pt reyes with me for a surf perch mission and let me ride it down, was a beast and really comfortable.
