    Whole lotta stuff
    201k on my old 06. The 4.0L in that truck felt less powerful than the one in my 011, but felt like it would go another 300k miles.

    Played around with some vaccum line inserted behind the upper portion of the outer door seal the other day, trying to eliminate the kazoo sound that some of us 2nd gen guys get from crosswinds at highway speed.

    The results were good. So I decided to redo it the right way. Bought 8' of 4 mm vacuum line. I ran the line from about 2" from the top corner down to about 3 inches from the side mirror. Did the same for both sides. Can't even tell it's there

    Finally got our Avid bumper guards, Rhino Lined and installed. They sat here for nearly 2 months (had both knees replaced) before I was able to get them to Bullet Liner for their magic.Avid bumper guards installed 006.jpg Avid bumper guards installed 003.jpg

    What fluid did you use? I've always got some Valvoline MaxLife ATF around. I used that

    How did you secure the vacuum line? So that it would not come out.

    Got my baby back today. New rack and pinion and p/s pump with towing and loaner included $0 on a $2600 dealer repair. Glad I bought the warranty from TFS when I bought it used in 2013. Loaner was an 18 SR5 with a 4cyl, thoroughly unimpressive. I plan on keeping my '12 forever.

    It just lays in there. The door seal holds it in place. No way it can come out.

    That picture you see is me pulling the door seal away, far enough to see the vaccum line.

    I can get a pic of it in place if you want

    Hope it works for you. I commute about 50 miles a day. I trialed it for about a week. A couple mornings it was windy and I noticed zero kazoo sound. Hopefully I've solved it. If not, I may need to step up a size.

    BTW...4mm = 5/32

    I appreciate the info, I have been living with this noise on my 2013 from day one driving into and out of Atlanta every day (retired now) I am going to give it a try and if I have to go up a size it is an easy fix. The sound on mine is magnified due to the fact my Hearing aids make it sound like a freight train :confused:
