Side mounts. Are my bikes really short or is there some reason everyone is doing front mount? Trek 8900/Medium, Klein Attitude/Medium, Orbea Alama Carbon/XL, and of course my son's Cannondale 24" all fit...

Dirtbike’s not pedal. It would be a pretty funny conversation with the liftee tho.

I'm 5'11", and got the medium. I think you'll be good on the large.

I have one. I like it a lot, really high quality. I noticed the tire does run on the tailgate though, so you’ll have to play with the position if you want to prevent it. Otherwise it’s great and a decent price for one bike over the bigger pads

Awesome thanks! I rarely have more than just my own bike in the truck bed so the bomber strap really appeals to me. I think it looks better than the bed mats too. Much more simplistic

Had a Cannondale Beast of the East 1 before this bike as my first 27.5+, and that bike was super fast and fantastic. The Chameleon is an even better bike and the Cannondale was sold just recently.

My Chameleon is a semi custom. Started as a R+ build but swapped most parts except the frame/fork/headset. Single speed, Hope hubs w/WTB Scraper rims, Rocket Ron tires, Fox transfer droppper post, most cockpit parts etc were changed. Bumped the front fork travel to 140mm to slack it out even more.

Single speed plus stupid fork travel and a dropper post makes this bike stupid fun and recommend for anyone in my book, but those are all changes I made.

I was seriously considering putting a 140 fork on one too... how’s that treating you? I’m pretty convinced in my mind to get it, it’s just a question of getting the R+ and swapping things as I go or to just build it up from the start. R+ is a decent set up for the price

It really is. I usually take mine off while I ride and just throw it in my cab, really easy to snag off my truck while I’m gone. The tires will run on your tailgate too so you may have to play with position, I haven’t seen any damage to the paint but I do keep an eye on it

I should have built from frame but did R+ only because it was just released and frames were not really shipping bare yet. This was before S/S+ and I even ordered before they shipped with dropper posts.

Decide what parts you want to swap and make up your mind that way. I pretty much always change parts extensively and now primarily build from frame and it cost me alot more but I get what I want. If geared, I run Sram drivetrains but I hate their hydro brakes after years of shit, so only Shimano hydro brakes for me.

I only have 4 bikes ready to ride; 3 were purchased as frames, with the 4th the Chameleon that has almost no original parts and never left the shipping box stock at the bike shop (SC sent me a single speed dropout installed geared build in the box)

Do those fork mounts mount directly to the factory rail? Was thinking Rockymounts/Lowball and now thinking that sidesaddle set-up you did may work for my road bikes. Maybe I should get the mounts first and see if the bike fits before I buy the OEM front rail bed attachment.

That’s a sweet Juliana. My wife has the spearmint Furtado. It’s still too wet in Dallas. I had to do a road ride.

    Had a dual sport day!

Rode my fat bike over from my place to my buddy's this morning, then skied 2 feet of pow all day at the 'Bird+Alta! Drove back down, and pedalled back from my buddies place to the casa.
My quads are shot. The 3 flights of stairs back to my apartment almost didn't happen.

Not a bad day for being out all night with the powderbird crew. :drunk: :bananadance: :bananadead:

You wouldnt happen to have all those takeoffs laying around would you? Digging the new chameleon colors (VT scheme) but tempted to get the frame and piece one together.

Standard Yakima bike mount directly to the rail. The Trek and Klein are old so a medium for those frames is quite large; although I think the chainstays must be shorter and of course the 26” tires.
