Nothing is wrong with the transmission btw. Its just not what people expect/are used to. Just make sure you can learn to like it

More like learn to drive it ;) I took my time to learn it's behavior, it also adjusted to my driving pattern and now I know exactly how to make it behave the way I want it.

Couldn't deal with the AT....even Consumer Reports says what great truck the Tacoma is but "stay away from the auto"....went MT and it's STILL slow compared to my '08 Access Cab....but that was 2x this is 4x and DC so way heavier on top of loss of CC.

Hey I hear they make turbo kits for em! lol

I hear you. Coming from a Challenger, this is a change. However, going 'fast,' at least to me, means either going to a track or playing roulette with your license. If you want to drive fast, a truck just isn't the answer. Capability, utility, durability - these are the top attributes of trucks, and the Tacoma highlights these incredibly well from what I've continuously seen.

Shit. I used it on mine. I’m 34 and have been slowly going to school that my work pays for. Finished my tech degree with no school debt and was able to use the rebate. I’ve been working at the same place for 15 years, so not every college grad fits your mold.

I get in college rentals to do repairs. One guy told me that with careful spending and working some thru out his time there that he was one semester from graduating with 14k in debt ,but had friends that had 4 times the debt, because as he said they were spend happy

Totally agree....I just got used to the power of my 08....The AT Taco for me was just no fun to drive.....I'm happy with the manual though.

Plus if I need to go fast....R\T Challenger and 47 Willys CJ2A with a ridiculous 327 in it in the garage lol
