We recently picked up our Drifter...can't wait to get started on our interior build/modifications!

Snagged a 3D pen for Christmas, decided to try it out by making a PLA plastic Drifter for my Matchbox Taco :). Kinda crude since it was all free hand and no effort was made to smooth the surfaces.....This pen is pretty cool!

Panel extension - like added depth for the switches/wiring?
Care to elaborate on how you did it?

Its a basically just a spacer made out of c channel because the std rockers dont fit in there.
    .
I took a piece of aluminum square tube, cut it in half to a C channel, further cut it down to a shallow channel, duplicated the penetration pattern on one side , translated the angle of the side of the camper to the c channel, added rivnuts to the channel, duplicated the penetration pattern to the top side accounting for the angle of the side of the camper.
    .
screwed in spacer to the existing standoff, screwed in modified coverplate to spacer rivnuts.

    Thanks.

For some reason, I had been looking at tubing and trying to find a good dimensional combo that would allow for the same thing. Can't believe I never thought of this.

Did you just add 1"? I think that's all I'm going to need.

I used 1.5" and this was the minimum. I choose that because it would go right to the edge of the camper bottom rail. 1.75" would allow the switches and sockets to fit better.

The benefit of cutting down a square tube vs C channel is that its available in lighter gauge. I bought a 2' section on ebay. I didnt go too light, but 1/8" is overkill.

Makes sense. I've got a bunch of flag terminals that I plan to use, so that's where I'm getting the extra clearance.
And yeah, like you're saying, 1/8" is gonna be the lightest c channel that's readily available anyway.

Flag terminals would be the way to go here. I think 1.5" then would be all you'd need. I had a bunch of insulated std ones that came with the panels, so a bit of pre-messaging and it went in.

Yeah, been twice for extended periods of time. Love the area. Some of the suburbs around Beaverton and Lake Oswego are appealing, but I’d rather live in the city until my family grows and I need a bigger place.

I understand wanting to live in the city. Have you looked at the east side though?
