Tell me about it, actually don't. I set up a new goal in life, never visit the state of Arizona for the rest of my life after I move away. I won't count the airport in case I have a layover.

I want to plan a trip to the eastern united states but it's almost impossible to make it worth it with how few and far between everything is there. Too much private land makes it hard to have any real fun in a truck. Maybe a car trip though, lots of city sights to see

Huh I never knew Clarkson had an 80series. Apparently he didn't give it up until recently either. Got the engine size wrong though. He has a 4.5L 24 valve or a 4.0L 12 valve he mixes the two.

I would of thought he had a Land Rover. He likes to preach about them.

That's always how it is with people, they'll own a whole bunch of useless junk like land rovers, fiats, Alfa Romeos. But you always keep something on hand that you know will actually work and get you where you need to go

That 80 series is 95 96 or 97 due to the fender flares. But that 2 tone color scheme I believe was only available 96, 97
10 mpg city driving, sounds about right lmao

And if that's the case he's in the 4.5L 24V beautifully balanced example of the I6. Amazing engine

So it's 4.5L since he said it's a petrol model. It's got the later less stylish dash too. Yeah 10mpg city sounds like what I get. My current best is 14mpg highway. Be eager to see if it's happier after I rebuild the front axle and change the trans solenoids.

I would pull 14-15 mpg highway. Mobil 1 in all 3 diffs might get you a 1/2-1 mpg uptick

I'm full of tons of worthless information about them as well because the design/engineering aspect of them absolutely fascinates me

I'm not expecting much from her. Three seasons worth of daily duties will be lifted shortly from it's workload. I have a front and rear main seal I need to address soon though.

You had to do the oil pump seal yet?
That and the distributor o ring were the more common sources. But yeah that rear main will suck. Sounds like a regular Saturday weekend job for you though

What's your long term plan for the 80?
But hey, how do you have all these vehicles and all this time and you're in college full time? For real?

I did the dizzy seal when I got it. Haven't looked at the oil pump seal, maybe that's my new leak. Kinda looked like the passenger side of the block was a bit oil darkened so I thought perhaps oil cooler since that's all that is over there. I'd really like to pull the engine and trans when I get back to WA and give the seals a refresh and tackle the HG while it's easy to get to since that seems to fail no matter what on 80s if it's the original one. Would give me a good opportunity to mend the harness near the EGR pipe too, it still works but you can see it got close once before.

I graduated in Spring of 2017 haha. My long term goal for the 80 is keep it as long as possible. I really love it, and it is a joy to drive. I'm just gonna build it sorta mildly since I'm take about 4-5 wheeling trips a year and that isn't enough to warrant keeping the taco around too. My job right now is extra lax, I maintain an office building worth of computers and network equipment. Basically if nothing is broken or we aren't preparing for an update or something I don't have a whole lot to do.

Absolutely not loaded and the only two that were mint but still 10 years old when I bought them was the LX450 and the 99 LC. I don't do payments or debt or any of the other BS dealing with credit.
