In my case case the build start date was 12 NOV 2018 and it is currently in final assembly. My expectation is it will be finished next week but good luck pinning GFC down on an estimated build completion date or even an estimated delivery date.

My email also said 3 - 4 weeks once it's in production, but I'd give it at least 6 weeks if I was trying to coordinate time off to travel and pick it up. If they are still in the 5-6 campers per week mode the components produced stage which as i understand is items sent to powder coating, has about a 3 week back log.

Looks like 2 3/8” to me. This was a pic another member sent me when I was wondering the same thing.

I’m thinking of going with another style camper. I’m a bit weary about the moisture issues that have been addressed with the gfc’s . It’s a minor issue but something Id rather not have to deal with. And just decided to go a different route after following this thread for awhile.

I'm really curious as to what the actual hard numbers are of people having moisture issues vs staying dry? I just spent another weekend getting dumped on with 6+ inches of fresh snow last night in the backcountry of Idaho and didn't have a single drop inside. Any guesses for the number of people with moisture? 10 out of the 120 delivered? 20, more? I regularly watch this thread and can't recall more than a handful

There seems to be a lot of misinformation going around Tacoma world.

I never said it didn't happen. As an engineer I was wondering about the statistics, you know, actually trying to be helpful and not just a useless troll.

    You did say “misinformation.”

    :notsure:

I’m curious what the post ratio is to guys that have issues with theirs compared to the guys that immediately respond with “but mine is fine.”

Sounds like it mainly based on how people choose to close their camper that allows moisture to find its way in.

A bigger issue is the production rate. Even at 5 campers a week its a problem. There’s 359 unfilled orders right now and production on the last year was 118 campers? Order 492 isn’t getting his GFC by December

I can't fix ignorance, but what I was looking for was to see if the number would be considered statistically significant, generally 5%. Especially after some people fixed their issues by closing it differently. But forgive my lapse in judgement that something beneficial can actually come from tacomaworld, jesus. All hail the useless comments. :crapstorm:

I will reiterate mine is DRY, Ive had it in one outrageous rainstorm and it couldn’t have worked better. The other people I was with gave up in the middle of the night and got inside there vehicles (I’m not kidding).

To be honest the “other” camper. The Drifter in this case doesn’t seem to have many reported water issues. For one there’s about 75% less of them out there, 2 they’re mostly in Cali... I’m betting not many GFC’s in SoCal have issues with water either.....

GFC has units in the Pacific Northwest, Alaska, British Columbia, mine in upstate NY (just as wet as the NW), yes there are some issues here in there but most of them are related to the truck bed.

Not saying you should keep your GFC but be realistic. It’s a tent not a house....
