Since the upgrade to the OME Dakar MD packs in the back, I saw another thread regarding the rear brake lines and how they can rub on the hangers. So I took a peak at mine and yep, they were rubbing on both sides, driver and passenger. No matter if I bend the guide out farther or not with a large screw driver. As soon as I go full droop off road it bends the guide back to the position that the lines make contact with the hangers and bolts again.






This is what I have done to correct the problem, some tubing I had from another project with some hose clamps.

I am so incredibly lucky to be able to just go out in the bush, travel gravel roads that connect a bunch of lakes, all within 1 hour of my home. Almost all the lakes on this road are spring fed, crystal clear water in almost every single one you find. If you keep driving you just keep finding lakes.

These are the 2 lakes that the stream runs between in the pictures, the 1st picture is of Big Mcdougal lake. 1st spot we found and sat on the tail gate with our feeties ni the water.

The 2nd and 3rd pic are of the truck on the beach at Little Mcdougal lake sitting at the stream between the lakes. Crystal clear water, swimming along looking down and you see something, try to go down to get a better look and its so far down I cant even get to it. You can easily see 45 feet down to the bottom while swimming, its amazing.

It also comes with a free foot spa, when you sit on the beach in your beach chair with your feet in the water at the head of the stream. There are TONS of minnow's. They nibble all the dead skin off your feet. I had 2 older cut's on the bottom of my feet that needed to be cleaned up. The fishes did it for me, and it tickled


Planning on finding a few more this weekend

 

Went out for just a drive with the wife, of course while we are going along I see a tiny 'sand pit' just enough to put it in 4x4 for a minute.

Now the drive has changed to 'We are going to a sand pit'

Found one in no time at all.

Some late season wheeling, last trip out to the VMUTS this year. Fun with some snow

Well we got one more trip in for snow wheeling, me and my buddy with his Jeep are addicted to snow wheeling and are trying to get out as much as we can, before the trails start being groomed for snow machines. We helped some stuck hunters along the way as well.

Had to turn around here as the snow was so heavy it pulled all the small tree's along the side down across the trail. As soon as you hit them and knocked the snow off they flew up and almost went vertical again. But we could see at least 200m of this down the trail and did not want to play that game. We turned around and went to play somewhere more fun.

It is amazing what making friends can do

I am such a solo guy I never really had any friends to do shit with. Now that I have met a guy with a very capable heep(auto lockers front, rear and winch mountable front, rear) with very similar clearance as me (33's). We are able to find much more fun places to play.

 

Makes a huge difference having a buddy to cover you if you want to venture towards more risky stuff.

 

So today we went out solo, just the wife and I.

All we did was go up some trails we have been on dozens of times, my butt was puckered almost the entire time. What a blast.

Going out solo with this much snow, and no winch is I have to say the scariest thing I have done yet in the truck.

This video shows that no matter what I was having to work the wheel on the truck back and forth constantly just to stay straight. The trail was only hard packed in the center so the truck was always off one side or the other of the hard pack. Made it so much fun.

 

Where is this Snow being kept? Looks like a great location for a snow run in January

 

All the snow wheeling posted here is done around this location

Much of it on the VMUTS, since they are a unique trail system that is shared for everything. You can technically take your truck on them anytime of the year.

It is just to far of a drive for everyone to take for 1 day of wheeling.

 

Spent some time at the auto hobby shop today cleaning up the compressor.

Re-wrapped the wires with new electrical tape, and that nice wire loom stuff that looks cool and gives a layer of protection from abrasion.

@tacoma16 where does yours have rust? Mine has no rust at all, I did a thorough inspection today.

Put new dielectric grease on all the underhood connections to prevent salt and crap getting in them over winter. As well as the connections for the CB antenna.

 

Mine had rust on the black portion. Just on the edges. I’m wondering if it’s because in my cap there is a lot of humidity. May have to install a vent or something.

 

Yea I wonder what would cause that, I thought mine took lots of abuse where it is positioned. Yet it is in perfect condition when I clean it up.

I think I am going to have to replace the fan on mine soon, it may have spun up with some mud in a bad place or something.

Good thing its just a PC fan and like $8 for a replacement. Might up the goodness on that part. Install a better one.

 

I would be interested to see what you come up with. Now that mine is a bit easier to take in and off it will be better to service

 

March 1st, and I am chomping at the bit to wheel. I want my 33's back on the rig and this snow to start and melt so I can go play.

We have so much snow this year I think it will be another 6 ~ 8 weeks before they stop grooming the snow machine trails.
