I hadn’t seen a gray one before, it is a cool color in person.

I talked my dad into buying one last year when I was visiting him up in Oregon for thanksgiving and he loves it. Wish I could get one down here in Cali it would be a perfect back packing/hunting sidearm pistol.

Agreed, The problem here in Atlanta is when You do find one they are jacking the price up so a lot of people pass on them when giving them a second thought. I would love to have one but I am not going to pay a crazy price for one.

I paid $395 for it - probably a little much but it was a birthday present to myself

Just found this thread so thought I would add to it. I bought a few guns recently and also had one gifted over the holidays.

The gifted one is a 1948 Remington Fieldmaster 121 that was my wife's grandfather's from when he was serving in the military in Alaska. It was really special to hear him tell the story of how he bought it and of his time in the military. He said he chose to be stationed in Alaska as at that time Alaska was not a state and it paid the same as being stationed over seas. In his words "it was less scary than being truly stationed foreign and paid damn good". He used it to squirrel hunt and plink during that time and it hasn't really been fired since. I took it apart and cleaned it and will take it to the range before too long to do some plinking of my own.

I picked up a 1988 Marlin 336cs from a friend whose dad was a collector. No cool background story, but it is new in box which is great. I was looking for a new one and didn't want to risk it on their quality control since Remington took over. I can't wait to take it out deer hunting next season.

I also bought a Marlin 60 and then a Walther Creed. Picked up a Crossbreed owb holster during their Christmas sale for a great price for the Creed and have been very happy.

Overall it was a great holiday season!

I'll try to take some pictures this week.

Those are the best guns.. ones with history and cool stories. I’ve got a M1 Carbine my dad got at a police auction back in the 70s. Had it since then and I grew up shooting it often. When he passed and I picked all his guns up I pulled it out, broke it down, checked all the numbers and it’s an actual, numbers matching, December 1942 Inland Division M1 Carbine. Only thing I’m missing is the rear screw that holds the buttstock. I’ve got the long screw that held the pistol grip folding stock my dad had on it. *before yall panic, no it’s not the M1A1 folding stock*

That Fieldmaster is a classic, and one of the smoothest pump action guns around. I have a 1944 model that was my father's gun. Mine is pretty rough looking, but still shoots great. They're really fun to plink with.

That 22 mag is expensive. I like the pmr just trying to decide if I'm willing to spend that much on 22 ammo .

You want a handgun that shoots fireballs, so you buy a PMR30.

Just look at the build thread
Used a couple of Cabelas gift cards I had and bought some Plano All Weather cases for my rifles. Was hoping I could get the 10/22 in the big case with the Weatherby but it wont fit with the Magpul stock on it. Oh well. 20190108_151208.jpg 20190108_151228.jpg

Yeah, I'm not willing to pay Pelican prices and these are really more than I'll ever need. But with the gift cards I got the 42" and the 52" for $180ish out of pocket so I didnt mind too much.

I bought a Pelican case last year and about 2 weeks later my buddy showed up with a Plano and I thought my Pelican is better but I don’t think it’s 4 times better. :notsure:

Yeah, I dont plan to fly anywhere with my guns or drop them out of a vehicle going 70mph so I didn't see the reason to spend more than I did.

I’m actually about to snag one as well! Glad to hear you are satisfied with it. I’ve been going back and forth on spending the extra money on pelican or not
