Ford has had something similar for getting in the bed for years. It is on the King Ranch I think. Cool though.

 

Auto 4x4 like Chevy makes. Probably the best thing I have seen in a truck.

 

I don't step up into my bed often ... once since I've owned it. So the seams in the bodywork would deter me from that option. Also looks like more points of failure. Be it in function or scraping on something.

 

I’m constantly getting in and out of my long bed. Getting old for the crawling up.

 

the new GMC F150 sure has a lot of innovative features don't it? I absolute hate the new body style. guess since F150 is the #1 selling full size trucks for over 10 years running GMC/Chevrolet needed to make their trucks look similar? oh well, still a big fat NO for me.

 

I do like it better than the bed step aesthetic, so I'd be interested if I was in your shoes.

This! Tailgates are the most abused items on a truck. This makes sense for the middle aged Bills and Bonnies that are throwing nothing more than a Costco sized load of toilet paper in the bed.

 

You mean regular cab with a v6

 

Yeah, the F250 Super Duty has it. A friend of mine had one and it had the tailgate step (I guess that's what they call it).

 

it was a $300 option across the board on all the F150's except the XL I believe. my 2014 XLT had it.

It also doesn't look well thought out. I could totally see someone dropping the other section on a trailer hitch.

The is a soft Bonnie option so it will make it easier to retrieve her toilet paper
