Dumbest option on the market. If you flip it down with a hitch in, it’ll rail the tailgate.

I wish for Factory air-cooled seats... I live in Texas, like leather seats and have rented several cars with this feature... I think this should be an option for EVERY VEHICLE...

I use the crap out of my tailgate step on my ford, especially with the lift. I also had a wetsounds ultra 10 HD Bluetooth sound bar in my bed that kicks the shit out of whatever they put in that gimmick

That is honestly what it looks like, I wonder if there is enough gap for clearance.

It'd be a real shame to mess up your $3k tailgate on your LTZ silverado.

That's well thought out unlike that GM garbage. GM has a habit of dicking the dog on thinking things through

That tailgate would be sweet, until it broke, like 8 months into ownership.

My roommates Lariat had that and I really want air cooled seats now.

I agree, I used mine quite a bit when I had my F150. just another thing Government Motors is trying to copy from Ford. maybe this time they will succeed in going out of business.

It’s not. I went and out my hands on one and checked it out. My 2015 LTZ Silverado sat in the shop enough, without this crappy tailgate lol

You know somebody out either already has, or will forget about the hitch and dent the tailgate.

Some sort of step would be nice. I've never used them, but the GM step built in to the corner of the bumper (not some underside appendage) seems like a nice simple solution. I assume they have it patented.

I had the "Man step" on my F250. It made getting into the bed possible. At stock height the Tacoma bed is not a challenge to get into and out. The complex monstrosity that GM has created is going to be a mess long term. Lots of cheap parts to fail. The Ford option is relatively simple but still does break on occasion. There are some fiddly decorative bits that would tear off when i would not step properly

The Ford SD automatic tailgates would fall without prompting. It would happen to mine. There is a TSB on it. A few folks out there pissed they bash a $4000 tailgate.
