    It is maddening fof
It is maddening for sure. Especially when your new to it all.

I didnt add any shims, dunno about that stuff.

Just did diff drop, and ECGS bushing ....

Haha. And about the stance, I like functionality and rake but I hear ya on the excessive stance. Some say removing the overload leaf in the rear makes the rake less but you lose function (if you use your truck).

And trust me I still am kinda annoyed at the 2 inch or more rake in the rear but i just need to drive and wheel it more, complain less.

    More roll less scroll

Yea my stock coils aren’t cutting and I’m thinking of doing the same. I have a SSO bumper and winch to go in though. I think the longer coil will give me the height I want with a more comfortable ride vs going with 650s.

Yes , les preload = better all around

I got these for cheap and once I add a slimline bumper and winch I’ll upgrade to 650

I won’t have less preload, I am keeping the ride height the same for now. The longer coil will still have the same preload since their both 600lb springs. It will visually have less threads showing but that’s not how preload is measured. I was the ability in the future to preload the coil more before binding, and with the 13” and the weight, I will be dangerously close to that.

Let us know how the ride changes.. i haven’t installed mine yet. No weight either. I have the 13” 600lbs looking for 2.25”-2.5”. I’ve heard it’s a negligible difference but I’d like to hear first hand.

    Thanks

How much lift did you end up with? 2”+? And preload 1.9”?

That would be a lot cooler but I am pretty sure they come with a 13" 600# spring

Yea i think I’m going with 600lb 14” springs.. waiting to hear from @The1youluv2hate if there is indeed any noticeable ride difference between the two..

Now why am i starting to regret not going with kings to begin with?? they are a bit cheaper (2.5 EXT w ADJ). They give you 600lb 14” springs to begin with-and give you the option of a 700lb coil if need be at no charge. (it’ll end up costing me even more to switch out to longer springs $$) now I’m not an expert by any means. This will be my first real suspension upgrade beyond the spacers i have now.

I am basing this solely on pics of preload & exposed threads (not science or expertise) on fox 2.5s vs kings 2.5s with the same amount of lift. (2.25-2.5” 3rd gen) kings have maybe 1 inch of threads and foxes are closer to 2.5” or more and it looks excessive. Agian, I have no idea what I’m talking about when it comes to this. But it looks like compressing a spring like that would tighten up the ride considerably when it doesn’t need to be.

Anyway just venting and putting this out there again as i know this is a well traveled road of conjectures and opinions.

    Thoughts and opinions welcomed lol

    Thanks for letting me rant

FOX 2.5/2.0 resi & DSC, OVTUNED, Archive Garage hangers,

There's a vendor here on TW that will switch out the Fox springs for you. I deleted the conversation, but know that's an option to possibly ask about.

I didn't get the longer springs and now regret it. I only got 2" of lift from the max recommended preload settings (27 threads on drivers/24 on passenger) on the 2.5 EXT w ADJ. Hub to fender measurement is only 23". Mine rides firmer that stock and that's with both adjusters at the lowest compression. Everyone says their truck is different, but that’s just been my experience.

I will probably change the springs on the shock rebuild if I still have the truck then.

They both come with the same spring rate so the ride will be similar. As far as the exposed threads, you’re correct it’s because fox decided to use a shorter spring. Any spring you use on Kings can be used on fox so theirs a 650 or 700lb option as well. I have my stock spring Fox’s cranked down to about 2” thread showing and they still ride great, only reason I’m going for the longer spring is once I add my bumper and winch it will sag, and I’ll need to crank down again. I don’t want to bind the shorter spring and I still want the cushy ride of the 600lb spring. It may turn out I’m wrong and need a 650 spring, but I’ll try these first.

With approx 2” of thread what’s your hub to fender measurement?
