Back story: went on a 10 day trip out of state. Before I left I disconnected the negative terminal of my battery to 1) not have the battery drain on me and 2) just in case someone broke in and try to steal the truck it'll take them a little longer and hopefully deter them when it didn't start.

Come back from the trip. Reconnected the battery. Then heard constant clicking from my fuse box. After investigating found it to be my Headlight Relay.

Another issue was that none of my key fobs are working. I don't think it's related but I haven't gotten new batteries to verify that yet.

Things I've done: removed the relay (with the battery disconnected) and tried to do everything else to see if anything was wrong. Everything else works, fog lights, DRL, radio, break lights, etc.

I took my multimeter to the terminals where the relay sits and found 2 constant 12v lines with the headlight switch in the OFF position.

That's where I'm at right now. I have no idea what could be causing the other constant 12v besides the normal 12v to power the relay.

    Any help would be appriciated.

My guess it's further down the line. The Head Relay (Headlight) always has juice. It's controlled by the Body Electronic Control Unit via ground pin.

So it seems like I could have an issue with the Body ECU?

Where would that be in the engine bay? And would it be something I could possibly fix myself?

It's where the Cab fuses are...No not a doable fix, more like remove n replace...but it be too soon for that.

my new work truck did the same thing after the new plow was installed. one of the battery cables was a little loose. tightened cables, no more problems.
