I have been cutting the fence down to around 5ft as we didn’t like how closed in the 6ft fence felt and wanted to “level” it off. They need to open the gov back up because I have been watching one to many DIY videos and I am itching to knock out a wall or two . Lizzy would not be impressed.

Knocking walls down is fun but only if it's not load bearing and there's no utilities in it lol. Seriously opened up our kitchen into the living room. Got it framed back in and had a guy finish the drywall for me. Good luck if you go for it!

I told Lizzy it doesn’t look that hard if it’s not a load bearing and she just rolled her eyes. I’ll just wait for her to go on a weekend trip and have at it .

Guys! Just got baby t running again and drove around the block :burnrubber:. It’s so frustrating that it drives fine but just has some kind of timing issue. Taking it to the shop tomorrow and hoping he can just fix the timing and be done with it. With the gov shut down and us not getting a paycheck, I am being a bit risky but I want to get this truck running so we can sell Lizzy’s. :fingerscrossed: for back pay.

Lol? Are you talking about the black thing in my back yard? That’s a steel fire pit we got as a wedding gift. But now I want to get them a trampoline!

Nice fire pit! But it sure looks a lot like one of those small trampolines that used to be popular.

We are both thinking it’s timing related. Doesnt make sense for it to be anything else. So probably a new timing kit to start fresh and a new timing cover. Let’s hope she’s running for some summer adventures .
Lol, I am not planning on it. We have been pretty frugal and I have a nice savings to fall back on. It would be nice to get back to work though. I am about to start looking for some under the table work if it goes into next week.

Be great to have you along again. I know I want to head West and explore Southwest Montana and the border of ID. Have found some cool areas to check out there.

If it's timing related do you think a valve is off or the chain is off a tooth maybe?

So he said a bolt was loose on one of the tensioners and that led to the bolt rattling/breaking. Once broke the tensioner snapped, leaving the chain loose to slap the timing cover. The bolt bored a hole into the head of the engine before breaking as well.

So he plans to weld the timing cover, bore/thread a bigger bolt into the head so I don’t have to replace that, and then buy a new tensioner. He said it’ll be about $600 when he’s all done with it.

Glad I went with him because had I dug into the engine and saw the damage to the head I wouldn’t have thought to bore it out.

    Let’s hope it works out!

O, and the other shop lied to me saying there was a huge hole I didn’t see in the timing cover and that there was no way to move forward without replacing it.

That's really good news BT. And at a very reasonable price too. I'm looking forward to BT adventures with dogs.

That's good news. The hardest part of getting vehicles repaired is finding someone who cares and will take the time to figure out what the actually problem is.
