What's the smallest box u think u could run on a second gen? I'm debating trying to cram that stuff in there or just do the tundra rack thing with the TC pump. My buddies that have used TC pump with racks say u blow the seals when ur hard on full lock with the revs high

 

Not sure? Maybe Toyota 4wd box? They are more vertical and might fit better. The Saginaw I ran is fucking huge.

 

Yea we put one of those on my bus tundra that has beaming but with the real long TT output shaft....its giant

 

What size Kings should I run with the dmz spring under kit? Remote resi, or?

 

2.5 x 16” triple bypass, and piggyback will work fine. If your order with the bypasses all layed out facing forward you will have more tire clearance under articulation. If you think you’re a badass you can run 3.0’s but will likely have to notch your frame

Style 2 is the bypass layout I am talking about.

 

Would these work for a TC +2 @glorifiedwelder ? Just know you put a lot of kits together. Might pick them up and ship them for another member. 8"

 

I would think that the reservoir would be in the way. Given the top mount orientation, it's going to have to either between the shock and frame or facing the tire.

 

Most long travel kits w/ piggyback secondaries have that tube layout, but not sure about the +2 kit - the BajaKits one is the only one I found in a quick google images search that uses another tube layout.

 

It’s hard to say. The shock configuration is a little different. Swapping to a remote reservoir will free up some space, but the overall shock is also a little shorter than the tc spec’d bypass since it has the weld on rod end. The price isn’t bad, but it’s not an insane deal either. If the buyer likes to fabricate and tinker with shocks it could save them a few hundred bucks. But if they plan on using tc’s shock hoops and don’t want want to have to deal with possible fit issues and converting shocks to remote reservoir I’d spend the $150-200 and buy new.

I've never seen a piggyback secondary used on a Tacoma. The tube layout shown in BajaKits photos makes the most sense to me.

 

Can someone post some photos of their shocks mounted to the axle with a bed cage? Trying to wrap my head around all this.

Piggy backs are less common for sure. Tubes towards the firewall may keep them further from things like upper control arms and wheels / tires. Baja Kits layout seems nice as far as access to the tubes though.

 

What does everyone think about dmz vs giant on sua? I’d like to get some knowledge thrown my way. I just see everyone running dmz and I can’t help but ask why no one really runs giant. It would be nice to get a good comparison between affordability performance and install ease.

 

Install would be similar. DMZ has better geometry. I talked to both before making my decision. Giant seemed more concerned about travel numbers than how it would perform throughout the travel.

Anyone have king 3” rod ends for 3.5 shock?

I just got mine, didnt see anybody comment on your post. So im going to ask you if you have any tips on the fenders? I did some trimming on the fender where the headlight goes but it is still a bit off. Has a small gap on the side. I still have to do the passenger side.
