I take a scoop of myproteins creatine. They basically throw it in for free whenever I order protein.

Creatine supps are a gimmick. You have a “loading phase” and then after a certain amount of time you have to come off if. Plus, it’s really hard on your kidneys/liver. With increased red meat intake that weightlifters have, creatine levels increase anyway. Save your money and buy quality fresh food.

Anabolics as you know are a completely different story.

It's well documented that you're a "savage," as the kids say these days.

If my calculations are correct, you're still coming up short of that desired 5g a day of creatine, and you are on the extreme end of meat intake at around 3 pounds a day. I am not saying that creatine is the end all be all in strength or bodybuilding. My point is that the argument that "you can get the desired/effective level from a good diet" is patently false. If you think creatine is bullshit or unnecessary, that's fine, then don't take it or calculate your intake, but if you say it's necessary and that you can get the same effect from your diet as you would supplementing, you're wrong.

I personally think that people should be able to make their own choices a out how they live their lives.
I wish leagues were sophisticated enough to have natural and inhanced competitions.

Something is to be respected about both options.

    @Newlife you keep doing you.
If I tried squatting 800# my spine would snap in half.

I don’t have a choice but respect those that do.

They do. Usapl = natty lifters. Hell even uspa has tested/ untested. I lift mostly in SPF and we have tested untested titles. But since I can never compete in tested due to trt. Why not right.

But I do agree with you to each their own. Pin or don’t pin. Only thing I ask is remember I still have to bust my ass every day in them gym to get the results I do. If you take anabolics and sit on the couch all day you might as well throw your money out the door. But if you use them wisely and work your ass off them reap the benefits.

I’m sure this has been asked in this thread before...possibly even by me lol
However, I must ask as I can’t recall the answers received or what everyone said.

In your opinion, what is the best whey protein to take when lifting regularly?

I used to take ON’s Pro Complex(the original formula) and loved it. I’ve read really poor reviews about that product since they reformulated it.

Since the original Pro Complex is not available, I went with Syntha-6. I found it ok but, didn’t like it as much as the Pro Complex.

    Can anyone recommend one?

Myprotein. Can’t beat the price and it’s just as good as ON used to be

    https://m.us.myprotein.com/?feature=locale-popup&referringSite=myprotein_en_GB&countrySelected=Y

They’ve always got sales running too but if not you can use my referral code and get 30% off any order of $35+. Not sure if it stacks on other discounts or not. I’ve got some free joggers from them before too through their sales, and they are my favorite pair. All the flavors are great. My favorite is snickerdoodle and salted caramel...

I'm not sure what you mean by "best"?

Whey is whey. It needs to be consumed within about a 45 minute window of working out to be effective. If not you aren't really getting a benefit from the whey. Whey gets it's fame as being an excellent protein for nutrient timing.

I have not consumed whey in 6 years. I used it as a runner, not a lifter. Long run days (12-18 miles) I did not want to eat after running, and it really hurts your ability to recover. I would drink a shake but not eat food. I have no such issues with lifting.

I do not like processed foods. I don't like any added sugars and avoid artificial sweeteners as much as possible. It is very difficult to find whey powders that are essentially just plain whey with minimal flavoring and not a bunch of unhealthy crap in them. I did at one point find an organic grass fed whey that was tasty, I added extras like bananas for my post-run shakes.

I still have used BCAAs as a lifter but most of my supplement use with BCAAs, Whey, and glucose powders etc. was all as an endurance athlete when I was burning through muscle mass.

As a lifter I really just enjoy eating food.

I think "best" is minimal additives and what tastes best to you. Whey is not so magical that brand to brand is going to make a substantial difference. In fact whey is just a preference. As long as your diet is sufficient in micros and macros... adding whey isn't going to improve your results. It's more of a tool.

Thank you for sharing your discount, I’ll certainly look into it.

Thank you for your reply. I guess you’re right, it all depends on what you’re after. And yes, eating clean food is the healthiest way to provide your body with the right amount of protein and vitamins you need to achieve your fitness goals. When I was lifting quite a bit and was the most fit I’ve been, I would have drink a protein shake right after I worked out. I guess I was wanting to try to get back into the old routine a bit. I know I can do it....it’s just going to take more effort now that I’m older. The ProComplex gave me energy...or something.

So, I've found my workouts are best between 9 AM and 12 PM. I literally have been forcing myself to do night workouts for the last five years.

BUT, I'm most productive at night with everything else yet my workouts aren't nearly as good then.
