Think its totaled?

got in a wreck yesterday afternoon, (only had this tacoma for 4 days) coming up over a hill i hit a 2010 camaro that was at a dead stop doing about 55-60. me and my gf were both not wearing seatbelts and lucky all she got was a busted lip and i bent the shit out of the steering wheel with my face an hit the windshield, my nose is broke (bled like a sprinkler hose as you can see in the pics) and a few fracted bones in face but thats it. ended up very lucky. the lady in the camaro is fine jus had a sore neck and back but nothing life threating. anyways do yall think insurance will total it?! im thinking they will the frame is def tweaked up front. the truck will turn on but has a busted radiator and black lines and it absolutely will not go into gear.

 

I'd say its totalled but i'm not sure...I guess it could be repaired but it'd be alot of work! I'm glad you and your girl are okay man...wear your seat belt for now on man....I hardly ever wear mine but when I see this shit it scares me into to wearing it

 

i came up over the hill and she was turning left into her driveway but was just sitting there in the road and i had no time to react. her car def got the worse of the two damage wise it was nasty

Please tell me you learned a couple things from this??

My guess is you can wave good bye to your truck. If that frame isn't warped somewhere I would be absolutely amazed. A new transmission and the cosmetic repairs will most likely push it over the edge.

ya i will be wearing mine from now on, will also make sure w.e i get has airbags my face crushed the steering wheel pretty good, and windshield didnt feel all that appealing.. my eye was good until i tried to blow my nose lastnight and pop all the fluid went right to my eye. it looks alot better today than it did lastnight in that hospital pic.

 

First, consider yourself damned LUCKY that it wasn't worse, seatbelts are there for a reason. If theres is frame damage then probably, but thats for the adjuster to decide.

 

god damn i bet that had to hurt...i've had my nose broken a time or 2 but never like that...your hard headed lol

 

o i did learn alot, feel bad for my gf, shes go to go into work tomorrow at winghouse with a busted ass lip, me on the other hand have no problem goin to sit on the tractor in the groves lookin like i got my ass wooped. just glad everyone is alright and got out with that little of injuries

 

to be honest it didnt hurt all that bad, as soon as it happend i was covered in blood tho, i checked on my gf and then i got out and ran across to make sure the lady in the camaro was ok.. the lady was taken off by ambulance i didnt go i wasnt even gona go to the hospital but ive had previous head trauma and had brain surgery from a burst blood vessel when igot hit in the head with a baseball while pitching in high school so i went to get a c-scan just to make sure all was ok in the noggin.

 

Glad everyone will be OK, Why didnt the air bag go off? hate to see this kinda stuff. Dont know a whole lot about insurance, but it does look like alot of work. Dont have a lecture bout the seatbelt, but it mite have helped.

 

well like i said ive only had the truck for 4 days, and come to find out.. NO AIRBAGS.

Glad you're okay but you were lucky! Who was considered at fault? The accident may not have been avoidable but your injuries could have been alot less. Too bad they don't have those automatic seatbelts they had in the 90s anymore.

 

It is good everyone will be OK. The truck probably willl be parts at a junk yard. Hopefully some positives will come out of this.

1. You will be wearing seat belts in the future.
2. you won't drive so fast where you can't see what's ahead. (That could have been a biker with a flat)

Get better, get another Taco, drive safe man. People die on the road all the time, a little safe driving can save a lot of lives. Not trying to preach here, but someone was inches from killing me on my bike because they thought they were a better driver than the speed limit signs said. If he hit just a bit of sand in that corner, I would have been been hit head on, on my bike, and wouldn't be typing now.

 

Why, if she is whom you are referring to, a dumb ass? I'm sure there is more to the story than is being recalled. Do you wait for possible oncoming/opposing traffic to pass before you turn left? 60 miles an hour on a road other than highway ( I know that there are rural roads with high speed limits, see them in SC) That is ZERO reaction time. What if it was a 3 year old on tricycle wedged under his truck. Is the child a dumb ass? Self admittedly he's at fault. Glad to hear that you and your girl weren't seriously hurt.

Let's hope the Camaro lady is more forgiving than your steering wheel.

 

the truck is a 95, and i was charged at fault and got a ticket for careless driving for $164

 

there was no oncoming traffic for her to wait for, and yes it was a country road the speed limit is 55 and i was doing 55-60.

 

Funny you could see that there was no oncoming traffic but you didn't see her. Again, lessons learned.

If the WingHouse (yummy) won't let her work with a busted lip, maybe the WaffleHouse will give her a job.
