2018 Tacoma with severe transmission issues......3.5 V-6 with HARD to SEVERE clunk when shifting back to stop.......and it get's worse!!

MOST of the time, it feels like I'm on a bumpy road as the transmission shifts back to a complete stop. This thing has less than 400 miles on it......new lease from recent Toyota-thon....

Right? It's a lease. Something is clearly messed up .What's the issue beside it being inconvenient

Inconvenient??...a new $31k vehicle showing issues like this?...the test drive was like all new test drives, lots of new bells and whistles, didn't notice this at all....

Yes. Inconvenient. Because you'll bring it back and they'll either fix it or give you a new one at no cost. So your loss if time and Hassel is inconvenient

I'm already thinking lawyer-up with the lemon law......basic Google is showing multiple complaints, and I'm seeing a LOT of low mile Tacoma's on dealer lots (less than 5k...)

Dude. You are talking nonsense. You are gonna lawyer up with 400 miles and have not even talked to the dealer yet? Please.
Sounds like you didn't pay attention to the test drive.

Lol $31K is not even the AVERAGE price of a new vehicle bought in 2018. Buyer's remorse maybe?

A lawyer isn’t going to do anything but waste your time and money. Take it in, get it looked at. If there is a problem toyota will fix it. If they can’t then you’ll have to meet all lemon law criteria before it’s worth your troubles and money to lawyer up

A lawyer isn't going to do anything but scare the shit out of Toyota......do a basic search at your local dealership......check all of the LOW mileage Tacomas floating in their line-up....the dealer will say they were service convenience usage (check the transmission on these vehicles.....automatics..)

A lawyer (in your case) isn’t going to scare Toyota. Or any manufacturer for that matter. They have several on their payroll, you do not.

As for a bunch of used trucks being on dealer lots that doesn’t mean anything. It happens with all makes. I came from a F150 and I miss it every day. That being said, they are two totally different trucks. The Tacoma IMO isn’t a great highway vehicle. I feel the Tacoma come alive on rugged roads. It just has a different feeling on those types of roads and explains why so many people love to off-road with these trucks. Granted it doesn’t have the power that a full-size but my F150 never had that type of feeling off-road and it was a FX4 model.

Holster your guns cowboy! No lawyer will take this case unless your dealer failed to fix same issue at least 3 times within a warranty period(depending on the state). Take it to the dealer. It may be as simple as a low fluid or in the worst case scenario a defective tranny, in which case it will be replaced under warranty.

They're not "listed as used..."....I'll be simple.....GO TO YOUR LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER AND SEARCH 2018 Tacoma....and see all of the low mileage Tacoma's.....this is quickly becoming an issue.....and these are NOT service convenience trucks, they are returns for service related issues (lawyers.....)

Once a vehicle has been titled legally I don’t think they can sell it as “new”. Only exception being I believe if there was an error in the paperwork and they file for an amendment. Anything with mileage on it you see in the lot would be just mileage that’s racked up from test drives, dealer trades, or sometimes they will get demo vehicles and they can sell them new with some mileage on them. Where I live it has to be noted it’s a demo but it can be sold a “new”. Still has full factory warranty from the sold date. Not the production date or anytime before it was officially “sold”.
