Leaking

    2005 Tan Tacoma Base 5 LUG: Beaten , abused and still running strong.
    Fat Bobs 2.75 lift and level with short AAL, 16x8 Level 8 Guardian Wheels, 245/75R16 Toyo Open Country ATII, custom trans shift kit(home made), Trans temp. and Vac gauge, URD fuel pump upgrade(going back to stock soon).
    Some how I got water in the passenger floor boards no idea how its getting there but its there. I checked the A/C drain no leaks. Checked the body plugs on for leaks by hitting a massive puddle at over 30mph no leaks. Door and window seals check out. Heater doesn't leak coolant. I have replaced the windsheild but its not leaking from there either.

    I went to the dealership and the service tech was bent on replacing my A/C evaporator/heater unit along with its components even though its not leaking.

    Any ideas where the water could be coming from. All and any help would be nice.

    My guess was the AC drain, had that happen on my other truck. Maybe it's your heater core?

    As I mentioned earlier the heater core is fine. If it did leak the smell would be unique.

    How sure are you that the A/C drain is not leaking? Can you verify freely dripping water from the condensate tube with the A/C on in humid weather?

    Yep large puddle on the ground and ran my hand with a paper towel over the line from the box to the exit not a drop. I am beginning to think that this leak will cause me to sell off my truck in the future.

    Unfortunately, water leaks can travel a long way before they drip or soak something. It could be coming in at a roof seam and running down to the dash before it drips off.

    Wow...That would be ridiculous in a lot of ways. Let alone trying to offload a problem like that onto someone else (while you profile reads "Beaten, abused, and still running strong") it's a problem that isn't that big a deal if you test for it the right way.

    First up- When do you notice water?? After rain...After offroad trips...After washes...Randomly??
    A large puddle at 30MPH is not a leak test....Get out a hose and start running it over the side of the truck. Pay attention to the vent guard under the window and along the firewall. Also check your cabin air filter for moisture/mold. Make sure the door is dry between the inner panel and the outer sheet metal.

    The puddle was to check the body plugs under the truck at the worst conditions.
    As for when it comes in usually during a rain. The doors are dry where they should be and cabin air filter is MIA from the dealership. What vent guard?

    So there is no signs of water intrusion in the casing where the filter goes?? Water stains, white/yellowish crust...nothing like that??

    And the vent guard is the black piece that run across the bottom of the windshield-That is the first step to the cabin from the front of the car...like if the seal under the windshield is bad or anything.

    This is true but even still these trucks have alot of unprotected electronic connectors I'm sure eventually one of them will get water on them eventually and then I will get an idea where the water is coming in since I will be blowing fuses.

    No discoloration or anything. As for the vent guard it is in place and the only way water gets in the vent guard is for the truck to be sunk. The vent guard's openings are under the hood.
