I have no degree. Dropped out of college and worked at a grocery store for 4yrs then started land surveying and been doing it ever since.

I would stay in my current position indefinitely if they'd pay better.

Looking for maybe some night time work to supplement income, or switch careers entirely.

 

Contract overseas for a year.. make 100k+ tax free lol

 

Not gonna lie been thinking about that hard last couple of weeks.

 

How good are you at using geospatial information systems? There are GIS jobs out there that pay pretty well. Getting a certification within a particular specialty can help get your resume looked at.

 

Took a gis class back in the day. Very neat, unfortunately I don't use it at my current position. So I would need to get certified.

 

Isn't your current job doing GIS build-outs?

 

Doit. I have multiple friends contract for a few years and come home to an easier life.

 

The engineers upstairs use it. But I build our homes based 100% by an on ground survey.

 

I agree, hard part is finding a job stateside. I have it pretty good where Im at for now plus I would probably get served divorce papers.
