You don't need to go back to stock first, just write the 87 file. And yes, 87 octane is fine on the 87 tune.

First long trip with 1.05 91 octane this weekend was great. Went from around 500 ft elevation to 3200’ (Mt Shasta city), as far as 5k (along Hwy 97) up to Bend (3200’), then back down.. Around 500mi round trip and couldn’t be happier with 1.05. Cruise was usable and helpful, was able to make a couple passes when needed and actually had the power to do it (most of Hwy 97 is 1 lane with rare passing lanes, otherwise you pass on the straights when permitted/safe to do so). I also got impressive mileage (based on my prior trips here and weight/tires currently on my truck). I’m on 285/75/17s with aluminum skids, sliders, bed rack with RTT and averaged 14.9mpg per the dash display.. so corrected with new tire size is ~16.6mpg if my math is right. Thanks for all the hard work Mat @OVTune, appreciate it every time I drive my truck!

This is why we need 1.03 and 1.05 to have a child tune

    When I ran 1.03 I got a 5.9 sec 0-60 (ECT on)

Plan “B” if you would like to make a customized dashboard without the cost of changing out the HU... buy a Bluetooth OBD2 reader like KIWI2 and download Fusion OBD and incorporate Toyota specific access to ECU information.

using iPad, custom dashboard for towing information otherwise not available

Why wouldnt you flash the 93 tune if that is what you filled with?

Is there a good tutorial about setting up Fusion... (would you be willing to create one?)?

Alright gents, after this 15 minute idle is finished, I'm going for my first 40 mile drive with 04B30 93 octane tune (2019 AT).

Note: During the idle time, it did have (seemingly) random surges from ~650rpm to ~900rpm while the heater was ON. I turned the heater OFF, and the idle fluctuations went away completely. It's idling at ~650rpm and not moving at all.

    GAME ON! :headbang:

flashed Saturday and put a little over 150 miles testing out the tune this weekend. Mixed back road, in town and highway driving, all in D mode, no ETC. No issues at all and to sum it up so far, the truck is "predictable". Which to me is a huge improvement over the stock (TSB) tune.

Going for drivability and mpg. I do a lot of highway driving. I'm going through the tunes one by one a tank at a time to see which one suits me better.

I'd give it at least 2 tanks. If you're flashing every tank, the fuel trims are still settling in before you get a true read.

Wow, you finally got it! I was beginning to think the MT stepchildren were going to have 1.05 before you ;)
